The Alfa is dead. :-(
Cambelt has gone. The car is toast, not economically viable to repair. My own fault, been putting off changing it for ages, as the cost approaches what the car was worth.
On the upside, have put a deposit down on a nice Jag.

Sorry to hear your Alfa has 'had it' Ali. Is there no cheap way to sort it? Maybe an engine swap or if the damage is not too bad a cylinder head replacement? Any Alfa is worth sorting, as eventually every model they made becomes a sought after 'Classic'!

Unfortunately with crisis banging as hard here in Greece and our moronic leaders that are just increasing taxes, I am mostly using my little ninja these days... The Kawasaki Ninja 250R.
I only use the car on dates, when it is raining, or when I have to carry something big. Still love it though... I really like the tight sensation of it... suspension, steering wheel, stick... feels awesome...
'Babe magnet' very good! Some years ago I had an 18 year old client - a skinny little prick, runt of the litter - who drove a Valiant Rebel. It has to be retained by the seller and redeemed. That should make for some inconvenience when buying a used motor. That's at least two trips you'll have to make one to view and buy the car. Then coming away with the paperwork so you can tax it, then returning to collect the car once taxed. Unless of course you can do it online at the seller's home/showroom.
There is, nowadays, a thing called a 'smartfone' that will let you do it from anywhere there is a signal....
