I do agree; with these things there is no 'one size fits all'. However, for most kids these days, experiencing what I've outlined above, would do them good!

I was blessed with the best child in the world! Honest, she was no trouble her whole childhood. At 8:30 I’d say, “it’s bedtime”, and she’d say, “Ok”, and go to bed! You could check on her in ten minutes and she was asleep. Even as an infant she slept all through the night, in the morning you would find her in her crib awake, just playing with her toes or something, content. In her whole life, (she’s 30 now), I don’t recall ever raising my voice to her, or ever needing to.

Nice to hear, Russell. You must be very proud :)
Based on what they've told me, I don't think my parents had much trouble with me either. But then kids have much more (in my view, unhealthy) distractions these days.

Currently 289 viewing abstract chat, am I seeing things or is this normal?
Nothing is what it seems and nothing is normal!!
Could be right
Trouble is, that was a reflection of your arse, not your face:eyebrows:;)
Marco.
Oh no, it looks perfectly normal. It's what comes out that has science baffled.
While I'm on the subject I feel an apology is in order.
Sorry Londoners, for the fatberg. :( That was all me (apart from the drugs, don't know how they got in there.)
I thought Amber Rudd was a real ale. Anyway, why is real ale called craft beer now?
Ha! I understand there's a difference between the two. CAMRA defines real ale thusly:
'In the early 1970s CAMRA coined the term 'real ale' for traditional draught cask beers to distinguish them from processed and highly carbonated beers being promoted by big brewers.
CAMRA defines real ale as beer that is produced and stored in the traditional way and ferments in the dispense container to produce a reduction in gravity. It is also dispensed by a system that does not apply any gas or gas mixture to the beer other than by the traditional Scottish air pressure system.'
Craft beer is simply beer produced by a small brewery. It's probably, but not necessarily, real ale.
Do you still need a beard to be a CAMRA member or have they got rid of that requirement now?
It's been a long time since I was in the licensing trade but IIRC the rule applied to the women as well.
Women were mostly automatically members then
32 genders now, I learned the other day. At least 32, they reckon there are plenty they have not found yet.
I don't mind living in the future, mostly because we have the big screen tellies, but it's a lot more complicated than the world I grew up in.
I'd say it's a lot more complicated. The words we had for things are no longer acceptable, and have been replaced by new, even longer words, as if adding syllables will somehow take the sting out of it.
You get some mard-arse who's saying 'I haven't worked out what I am yet, but in the meantime you have to call me this...' And you have to go along with it, or the do-goody Nazis will do all they can to ruin your life.
Would one of those 32 include "heterosexual male who sticks his arm up sheep's bums for recreational reasons', or have I identified number 33?
You're preaching to the choir man. But I say just let them get on with it, it isn't bothering me and besides, big screen telly. And we have video 'phones at work. Proper, like on 2001 A Space Odyssey. Just a normal desk 'phone with a little video screen. I mean it is so retro-future you can't believe it. But hardly anyone has their camera switched on because 'I don't like it when people can see me on the 'phone.'
Never predicted that did you, Kubrick?
Mind he's dead so he probably won't be reading this.
You're not allowed to say 'dead' anymore, as the 'mortally challenged' may find it offensive. Like the sound of your modern retro orifice though. :)
There seems to be a lot of bees around at the moment, not sure why.
There is one particularly large bumble bee which has taken up residence in the eaves of an extension we're building. Poor thing faces an uncertain future when the plasterer finally decides to turn up.
It sounds like a carpenter bee. Big fat bumble bee that bores into wood like a drill. One was drilled into a beam on my porch, so I caulked it shut, and darned if he didn’t drill all the way out the other side! I thought you couldn’t dig a hole if there was nowhere to throw the dirt? He must have been eating it and crapping it out the back?
Russell
 Oh dear, that sounds like a worry! it's a brand new build as well, we can't have it falling down until we're at least back in the van and gone round the corner...
We have our professional standards to consider ;)
Think they are around in southern England now. They are darker in colour. Either way you don't want a bees nest in your eaves
Just read up on this stuff, and I reckon it is definitely a queen bumblebee setting up a nest. The nests are quite small with not many individuals. They pose NO threat of damage to timber, and at the end of the summer the nest will die.
The only real problem is that access is from inside the building, but it is recommend that the entrance is blocked, and another more conveniently located entrance made. The bees will then find and use the new entrance. This is what I think I will do as I think bees are pretty cool and I certainly don't wish them any harm.
Just home from work :)
Not really, if you're a burglar:D
Marco.
or a gigolo.
Or both ;)
I've done nothing useful today. Unlike me.
ive screamed a lot... but probably not useful..ok and was at hospital with the boy...suppose that was. kinda had enough tbh
Blimey. Take it easy Grant.
:lolsign:
Marco.
Had the community nurse in today to take some blood, what is it about nurses, that uniform.......MAAAATRON!!!
Did she look like a young Anita Harris from 'Carry on Doctor'?
I'm pretty sure her in that film is the root cause of the nurse fascination that afflicts most British males over 45.
Was it a male nurse? :D
Yesh, and I'm led to believe that, as a result, there's a lot of 'dandruff' on the floors...:D
Marco.
Aye, when it comes to makin' flakes, they're 'Head & Shoulders' above the rest :D
:lolsign:
Enough to build sandcastles!
Marco.
Ooh, the thought of building a pube-dandruff sandcastle, with a little maxi-pad flag flying at half mast, under Southend pier, just me and Tracy/Sharon/Julie , I'm moving to Essex!
That's if I can get the Ford Capri to start.
saw the video of that guy mauled by a lion. guy is an idiot going in there with a male lion...it nailed him and carried him off like he was a rag doll.
