Marco.
We played mainly original stuff, Manic Street Preachers/Terrorvision style and a few covers from Hendrix, The Who, Aerosmith and some more obscure songs too. I played in another band as well that was purely 60's/70's covers. That was great fun and our vocalist was the former Lib Dem MP Norman Baker. That band is still going but Norman and the drummer are the only original members.
Lol... Apparently, I've taken after my great granddad, who was also pretty tall (I'm 6ft 2ins), but I always ate my greens:)
Marco.
Then and now!......
1979 at the tender age of 17. Was supposed to be doing my ‘mock’ A-level Physics exam but I was getting a much more useful education at the Capital Radio Jazz Festival at the Ally Pally. Check out the line-up in the programme below.
I’m the one on the bottom left.

40 years later on holiday in Italy with my daughter Beth.
I’m doing a bad Samuel L Jackson impersonation to protect my little bald head from the sun.

Muddy Waters, Chuck Berry and BB King on the same bill! And whatever happened to Stephane Grappelli?
That's pure quality, Tony. Love the festival pic! Where's your doobie though, bro? :peace:;) Defo a great line up, although in those days I didn't 'do' jazz, or indeed classical music. It was strictly pop, rock and disco! I was a little younger than you though, in '79.
Nice pic with your daughter too. You're still looking good dude!
Marco.
P.S I spy someone's into Aperol spritz:eyebrows:
Here's what I looked like in the mid-'70s:

Yep...it's great fun...I was on the road for 11 years in a Blues Band called Ten Bob Blind...Keyboards/backing vocals...the odd occasion out front on Rhythm guitar/ harmony vocals with the lead singer...A heart attack put pay to the lot...at 37...too much drink..fags, takeaway food, working day job...and working in the band till the early hours...Bugger...
I actually think in that picture Joe looks like a young Jim Davidson!

Looking thin again Roy.. I'm a fat bastard at moment
Decent job of the locks I think ;) Now, where are those scissors ?
I'd move that Luxman to a higher shelf Roy, gotta see those fabulous VU meters dancing, not hiding behind coffee table...
Thanks. Just a no.4 all over with a little scissor trim around the ears.
No, that's where it lives Steve. Having almost 30kg on the bottom shelf makes the whole rack feel nice and secure. I don't have the meters switched on anyway, they can become a bit of a distraction & apparently the sound is more transparent with them off (although I can't tell the difference).
AND it's a powered recliner with USB sockets :eyebrows:
Had to move table to recline it but to be honest if I lie on that to listen I'll just fall asleep.

That's the trouble with recliners - you'd think they could make them less comfortable :( Looks good there, and those Tannoys make the amp look tiny! Bet it all sounds great :)

Wow, I didn't realise she was that big! Be careful where you rest your chin Ian, that's right where the "Frontline Spot-on" goes...
