Well he is certainly more 'vocal' 'nasal' on some records than others.
Off the top of my head I think 'Standards Vol 1 & 2 'suffer' less.
But I think in small doses it's pretty charming.. sounds like he's enjoying himself..
Although there are times I've thought .. Keith, leave it out!

Thanks for the recommendations, I don't have those so will check them out.

Some of Oscar Peterson's recordings are similar, but either he or the engineer have the good sense to keep it low key.

With Jarrett, I often feel the need to swat that crazed mosquito from out of my ear! I can appreciate that he is getting into it, but the tone and maniacal quality of it ruin a lot of his work for me, which otherwise is borderline genius.

And I live here, but am far from a Mancunian!

SCRAP that Standard Vol 1 & 2 have him buzzing like a crazy mosquito... but LAST DANCE with Charlie Haden is pretty mosquito Free, & amazingly beautiful!!
If you didn't know already, Spotify Tidal & Qobuz are now streaming ECM so the entire Jarrett body of work is there to explore...it may take a while, there is a lot of it.
I guess you already know, but Brad Mehldau is another excellent pianist worth exploring. Mosquito Free!
