I've reverted to the standard kernel in Moode and so far I'm not hearing any skipping. So I'm wondering if this is an issue related to the 'experimental' advanced kernel?

in moode, there is a "audio info" window which shows the processor usage of the Pi. On a Pi3, the usage barely goes over 10-15% while upsampling (as a reference point)
I'm using 2 different DACs with Moode on advanced kernel and have not noticed any skipping yet. I also play a lot of hi res files which would stress anything if processing was the issue. All my PI's are 3.Quote:

Just tried this but still skipping occasionally.
1) ssh pi@moode (pwd=raspberry)
2) sudo nano /boot/config.txt
3) change existing dtoverlay line to dtoverlay=allo-piano-dac-pcm512x-audio
4) ctrl-x y <return> to save the file
5) reboot

Could your broadband connections have some factor in this. I used to get this on occasion and think there was a fault with rip but it would play fine next time. When i switched to another router etc it pretty much stopped, bar a very occasional one..
I'm using USB connection, would the router still play a part?
