Saw a chiropractor for the first time this week, she did an x ray of my spine, where you can see the lumbars and the discs, and there appeared to be hardly any disc between lumbar one and two, so I guess that's been worn away tae fuck then, oh well. On the plus side after only 2 sessions lasting about 10 minutes each I feel much better and I can touch my toes again.
Right, that's me off to sunny Barnsley in a few minutes for the 'Wam show. Should be a good weekend, but there's a lazy corner of my mind saying 'Can I be arsed?' Be fine when we get settled there no doubt.
Hi, my name's Pigmy Pony, the world's worst at posting pictures, I don't think we've met :)
I did take a shitload of pictures, all of them terrible. There was some bloke there with a proper camera, looked professional. Took photos of absolutely everything. I'm told he was doing it for the 'Wam.
Send a few of the better ones to me and I'll try and edit them to look good. Don't go mad, I have a limited attentions span these days :).
Oh no, I've never done that Barry, I've only ever WhatsApp'd to other phones. And I think the sub-par picture quality on my phone is down to the hard life it has, going with me on building jobs. Makes everything 'soft focus', like the camera used to do with Barbara Bain in "Space: 1999" to make her prettier.
whats app images should go into your camera photos section under whatsapp images and should show up once viewed. if you use your phone then download the tapatalk app. even if you pay which i do its only 99p a month. its great for forums like ours and photos are a breeze
fireworks have started in earnest...poor old ernie:rolleyes:
Who's Ernie (apart from being "the fastest milkman in the west")?
Oops - just spotted your wordplay.
was some going off earlier when I put the empties out but they were some distance away.
Until then I'd forgot it was bonny night.
Had the Flu jab and the Covid booster the other day and been feeling properly rubbish since. Hope it was worth it!
I had mine a couple of weeks ago; one jab in each arm. The flu jab arm was a bit sore for a couple of days but passed.
Mrs. P had hers last month, but I just haven't round to it yet, despite getting NHS text messages. I really should do something about it.
Hilarious shopping on Ebay, when the 'Buy it nows' show up at ridiculously inflated prices. £150 for a first issue of Pink flag by Wire, or heh £65 for a copy with copious scratches on it, like some old whore in an Amsterdam window, demanding top dollar for her services. I just got a copy of Islands by King crimson, that was supposed to be nr mint, it had more snap crackle and pop than the breakfast cereal you know the name of, doesn't matter cos upon playing it was actually a bit of a crap LP, their next 'Red' sounds better.
I thought you were planning to whittle down your record collection, that idea didn't last long :ner: I would consider holding off on the rarities until after the vinyl bubble has burst, too many chancers about...
And using a free streaming service to 'try before you buy' will save potentially expensive unwise buys.
Got a used copy of this from a record shop in Bury this afternoon. Only a tenner. I'll find out what it sounds like tomorrow, but it looks tidy enough.

On the contrary, I've gotten rid of even more, quite enjoying it. Most of the leavers are records that don't have much melody, you know 'experimental' type music, including Kraftwerk. Tend to listen to alot of stuff on the ECM label nowadays. Whittled my Bowie collection from about 7 lps to 3, just don't wanna listen to 'Starman' anymore, too old for it. On the other hand I couldn't part with 'Hunky Dory' because of the incredibly uplifting 'Queen bitch', lol. Basically operating on the premise that life is short, and we all have to bye eventually, so might aswell start getting used to it. emmmm.
Bit of good karma here.
After undergoing major surgery, our next door neighbour needed complete rest, so for 3 weeks Anita doubled up on our evening meals, and provided them a 'meals on legs' service, as the neighbour's hubby wasn't much cop in the kitchen.
Anyway, the enjoyed Anita's air-fried chips which made up some of the meals so much that she decided to buy them an air fryer for Christmas.
Anyway, while sorting through assorted receipts/gift tokens yesterday (she throws nothing away), she found a forgotten Argos credit note dating from last December for £65. Feels like free money, like putting on a coat you haven't worn for a while and finding a tenner in one of the pockets, but more so :)
So, at what feels like no cost, Anita has become the best neighbour they could ever hope for (their words). Makes me feel warm and fuzzy :)
Yes but you are a good go along wither..
Well done for the kindness to the neighbour.
Yes to all of the above. Well done Anita!
Is it just me, or is the rush hour starting earlier and earlier each year?
When I was working the hours were 08:30 to 17:00, yet I notice that traffic gets busy from about 15:30.
Has anyone else noted the same?
If work finishes earlier, then it must start earlier - unless the hours of work are shortened. Assuming a typical 8 hour working day, with an hour lunch break, then to finish at 15:30, the working day would have to start at 06:30.
If you work from home there is no need to use a car.
im retired so it doesn't give me issue normally. i try not to go out in or near a rush period. but occasionally you do get caught.. without my car i cant get out, not that i get out all that much sadly.
No it's not just you Barry, I've noticed it over recent years. Increasing numbers of cars on the roads, combined with falling driving standards and (largely) piss poor public transport means that many set off earlier to (a) avoid the worst of it, and (b) compensate for the inevitable longer journey times.
But since I "semi retired" at the beginning of the year, I'm in the happy position of being able to set off a bit later in the mornings and finish earlier in the afternoon, thereby avoiding the rush hours... I bet you can smell the smugness coming off me :)
It's the school run, kids are too good for buses these days, ma or pa gotta chauffeur them in their expensive German cars.
