We never had advent calendars when we little. I've always assumed they were purely a Prod thing and that's why we didn't have them, but maybe our parents were just poor and kept the knowledge of such things from us.

The very worst chocolate is from the US. A workmate used to go there a lot and would bring back shedloads of it. Even though the office included many gannets, we never managed to finish it.

Never had one either tmk... if we did I dont remember it.

No we never had them either. And I still don't. When it comes to chocolate to cardboard ratio, they take the piss even more than Easter eggs.

the choc on xmas eggs is super sweet, but i do like it.... I dont buy them tho; got to be firm and not give in to ones needs :eek: well not all of them

Suspect the latter. My mother is a fanatical Catholic and we always had an advent calendar going back as far a I can remember. Can't recall when chocolate started appearing in them, late 1970s?
