Of course, I didn;t know he was doing first, like is he trying to cross in front of me to go into a shop or somewhere, but no, he just pushed into me.

And so, rather than giving him the benefit of the doubt, you felt you had to punch him in the back of the neck.
Today's mishaps.
Without realising, while painting part of the kitchen walls I knocked the scab off the bash I got on the head the other day and ended up leaving red blood 'dabs' on the ceiling!
Later, the steps shot out from under me and dumped me on the deck. Only fell about a metre and don't think I've done myself much damage apart from a slightly sore left hip and shoulder. The paint brush did a loop through the air over me and landed on the opposite worktop after bouncing off a dog food bag leaving a splodge of white emulsion :).
 No I shouldn't laugh really... you know it might be your body's way of telling you to get someone in to do it.
The days of heroic injuries are well and truly behind us - gone are the days of emerging from a smashed car with a small cut on our cheek like James Bond, or getting our hair tousled in a fight like Roger Moore in The Saint, these days we can put our back out just doing a big fart.
Yes I know what you mean, I'm a bit like that. But it's not that I want to do it, I just don't want to pay someone else. Though getting folk in to do what we can't or don't want to do, that's how most of us make a living.
used to be like that but no more. everything is not done by me :ner:
That's why I have tools for every kind of job. I'm too tight to pay to get things done (I'd do my own dentistry if I could :D). Tools are cheaper than hourly rates and I know how to use them!
I have a regular customer who likes to get 'stuck in'. She and her husband moved into a huge barn conversion house last year, and she employs a handyman whose sole purpose is to re-do all her efforts. Drives her hubby mad with her bodges, he even came back out of retirement (owns an engineering firm) just to get away from it all.
Why is it when you're decorating, you find digs and scrapes in the paintwork in places nobody would normally reach?
Cleaned out the wheelie bin, took some glass to the recycling, went the supermarket and did the laundry.
Think that's enough for today, don't want to overdo it. Time for a cup of tea and a nice sit down.
Not done wheelie bin, but I just finished shampooing the front door. It was filthy! Took a while, had to wash down with brush and sponge then go over marks with cream cleaner. Looks ace now! :)
Might cut grass (again ) later if it stays dry.
I use mop and bucket do the inside and out then leave a little bit of the 'juice' in the bottom to do its stuff over time.
I like to make a concoction of cleaning fluids in the bucket even though a lot of them say not to do that on the sticker. I'm sure I've made proper mustard gas at least once.
I think if it can kill me it deffo kills anything else.
Was going to do the front door but can't be arsed now.
On another topic they haven't been around here with the weedkiller for the pavements in ages so we're getting some great wildflowers coming up. Might be getting out of hand though. Just down from me there's a tomato plant growing out of the gap between the slabs, and it has tomatoes forming on it.
Don't think councils do that any more, worried about their environmental credentials.
I said on here years ago, that sooner or later all weedkiller will become unobtainable (like sodium chlorate did and creosote by the way, remember that?). I keep a considerable stock, just in case.
The councils around here stopped using weedkiller some time ago. They just have a crew doing weeding by hand, only lasts a week or two but you can tell which roads are done, lesser used ones are neglected and really overgrown.
council do the edges of pavement with something in their backpacks here. usually 2 times a year. dunno what they use but probably still glyphosate in this country as its still free to use
Well they don't do any weeding around here. It's left to the residents to do something about it.
I weedkiller everything within 50 yards of my front gate. Did it yesterday. and round the garden paths etc.
I believe petrol makes a good weedkiller, but maybe that's an old wives' tale.
covid is rearing its head again in numbers... wales and south west are worst hit.
Can one retire from being retired? I am so busy, I have little spare time, I couldn't possibly fit a job in too :).
(I've figured it out actually, everybody around me has got so used to me doing lots that they just sit back and let me do everything)
What, so do you find yourself doing lots of jobs for friends and family? A burden of your own making by being willing, able, and available. The only way out I can see is to get a part time job, leaving you with no time for their stuff. And at least you'll be getting paid for your efforts :)
The only other way would be to play the age card, but it's a slippery slope - if you convince others you're no longer fit or strong enough, you may eventually believe it yourself. That's my fear. And it I'm honest a lot of it will be vanity. Mrs. P thinks I no longer do work on rooflines/guttering, but that's not quite true.
Oh well, that's something I suppose. And more than my daughters can manage, they're both pretty hopeless. As are their respective partners.
But I do think it's a good thing to keep your hand in as long as you are able. We just need to try harder at not injuring ourselves
Just finished juicing some tomatoes and then some apples.
Washed machine and it's drying in front of fan. Always leaves it streak free. Fan is on anyway as it's close again.
Good juicer it is too. It's a cold press masticator type and produces load of juice and the remains are surprisingly dry.
Cold press all back together ready for next time.
Nice machine and really produces loads of juicehttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...ec60641aa1.jpg
And now, some major news from the west country, "Woman bitten by dog". Wow, never mind war, disasters and starvation, This is BIG!

The suspect was later apprehended at a local dogging site.

"Wasn't me guv, I've been here hanging out of a Dobermann all day"
This is why everyone wants to go and live down there.
In comparison in the last four years there's been four murders and a stabbing within a 100 years of my house.
I love that they have a description of the dog. Presumably they'll round up the usual suspects for an identity parade.
Good to see the boys in blue taking this seriously. Those community resolutions won't resolve themselves.
Will it be one of the 5% of crimes that they solve?
if they dont there will be accusations that it was a 'police dog'
Tailgaters. Do you love or hate them:(
The type that try to bully you to go faster as they haven't got the balls to overtake. Yesterday an Ambulance pulled out in front of the car in front of me from the local small hospital on the way to the larger county hospital. The first roundabout about 8 miles away. Clearly working on someone as they were between 20 - 30mph in a 50. The guy in front and I were safely and patiently accepting the situation.
Mrs middle aged Fiat 500 was mostly in my rear view mirror or on the imaginary piece of elastic where they drop back and then can't help themselves and loom up again. Then tried the "pop the front R wheel over the white line" game.....no chance....2 way winding country road and knew that they were not intending to attempt to overtake.
What goes on in these peoples heads? I could not have gone any faster in any event. If the ambulance had not been there then she would have been up my arse in the slower (30mph) areas as having driven professionally in the main I adhere to the speed limits and yes that means doing 50 in a 50 or 60 in a 60 etc etc. Makes my piss boil.
They should make getting a driving licence a lot harder.
