Not sure if this is a bargain or not, but I liked the look of it.
Big wharfdales from the same seller
I spotted the Wharfedales but they're a bit too fugly for me, and I've got too many speakers already. The B&W DM1's they are selling looked nice, though.
Speaking of Wharfedale, these Linton XP2 are in extremely good shape behind the grilles. I used a set of these for years with a Pioneer receiver (RX600 ?), and sound wise they were absolutely outstanding after a cross over rebuild.
I'm going to have to bite this bullet at some point. At the time, I thought the 74-75 vintage Wharfedales (XP's especially), Leaks and small Celestions a total pile of poo compared to the KEF competition and if you wanted paper cones, then AR had it all sewn up so much better back then IMO.
I've had an itch for summat like this for some time to refurb and must scratch it before too long....
I think that you were getting confused between the LINTON 2, which was a pile of rubbish, and the far better Linton XP2.
The Linton 3XP was my first ( separates ) speaker:thumbsup:
