My new custom fatbike from Reynolds 853 tubing and matching truss fork is starting to be ready for it's maiden voyage. Still some adjustments needed for the Brooksie and the cockpit but..

That looks awesome, can you go far with that set up?, that chain ring looks no more than 36 or 38 tooth.
Been busy myself, decided to get a folder to add to my Surly and Airborne, snagged a tired Dahon Hammerhead mini velo bike,
only thing i kept was the frame and wheels, everything else went, i put double chainset and drop bars on,
had a maiden run on it and it's reaaallly nice like a brand new bike, everything smooth and no squeally brakes or creaking noises,
so happy with my handy work.
Actually it's 30t ring. The bike has been designed for leisure riding and bikepacking, so the purpose is not to get anywhere as fast as possible. Just to ride comfortably and carry decent amount of stuff for trips up to one week or so as easy as possible. Have large framebag for the bike and Salsa Anycages for the both sides of the fork. Also the Truss fork has been designed so that big drysack fits nicely to the front :D
Today did two and half hours at the local trails and it felt goooood. On Sunday there is fatbike specific event with 4h group ride at the Oulu south side trails (not so familiar to me) planning to take part. So more pics to follow..
You're Joakin'......., seen bigger sprockets for goodness sake, wouldn't like to go anywhere further than 20 miles with that set up,
funny enought, i was looking at some Phat Bikes at my local bike shop recently, i'd like to get one in the future and have a scoot on the beach, California Dreaming in GlasVegas. :D
Looking forward to the pics at Oulu.
Have you ridden fatbikes? :)
The 30-32 ring is the most common size used in 1x10 setups if the purpose is do allround riding, plus some bikepacking or tours to remote areas with some mountains/hills. Also in snowy conditions you really do not need any higher ratios. With 11-36 10speed cassette the combo has pretty good gear ratio coverage for any standard riding. And actually I have also OneUp 42 rear sprocket modification waiting for the system if needed..
Whole summer and no update! Well, as you can imagine I have been riding so in the next posts few updates.. :D
First have been going quite a few rides to country and gravel roads around Oulu region. This summer have not ridden any brevets but there are still few longer rides included. Have also done few trips with light hammock and other gear to spend night somewhere in the middle of nowhere. Few random pics:

During this summer there was also my clubs main event Syöte MTB arranged at the Syöte Nationalpark and this was the first year we sold out the whole thing. Before the actual event did few trips to the area to plan and maintain the route.

During the event Syöte MTB had lot of things to do starting from route marking, checking the route with some trail maintenance, the actual race arrangements and of course cleaning up the area etc. Pretty exhausting week that was :D
