Guinness and Wine by Monkhouse - Oh. My. Word.
Every year I include something "modern" on my Christmas wants list. Usually a disappointment. Last year it was "Brat" by Charli XCX, which I played once and never again.
This year it's "When We Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go" by Billie Eilish. Much better to my ears, though very much 'out there'. Includes "Bad Guy" and the theme song from the last "True Detective" series "Bury a Friend".

Another Christmas pressie. I was expecting it to be a new copy, but no, it's used, with the old green "Harvest" label. Anita won't say where she got it from, all I can see (and hear) is that it is as close to mint as can be without being new (better than some new records I've bought in recent years). Result!

Cheers Barry, but I spoke too soon - almost immediately after my last post it started up with a fair amount of surface noise (not visible scratches so maybe it'll clean out). That was on the 'live' disc, so I'm not too bothered. I'm most of the way through the 'studio' disc now, no issues at all there.Quote:
