He is indeed - he and former Gong band mate Miquette Giraudy formed System 7 in 1989, including early collaborator Alex Paterson of The Orb. I have a couple of albums, but not listened to anything from the last 10 years or so - maybe a Spotify sesh is due to catch-up. :)
