[QUOTE=Audio Al;564031]Yeah, you were running short of speakers Al ;)Quote:
I'll probably not bother,/QUOTE]
I purchased them ;)
I know I'm fussy but that re-foam job is shocking... Look at the state of that !

And you thought we were all peasants up here…

A new speaker stand I'm working on. One or two issues with stability to be sorted out.
Interesting to see these again...
I believe these came from Keith Grant's Home Studio last summer. I visited and purchased a pair of Yamaha NS1000M from his Son who was having to clear our his dads home studio after his unfortunate death.
You can see the Urei's and the bottom of my Yams in a pic on this web page of the Home studio. http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/aug1...eith-grant.htm
I want these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Quad-ESL-6...item3391bf9045
... Unfortunately I can't afford them. I am however on the lookout for a wealthy mistress that likes buying presents :eyebrows:
Wish me luck
For some reason ive never ever had an attraction to the '63..However the '57 i have..
Either will do, I'm not fussy ! That said, Lindley-Allen ESL's are things of beauty
Another dream would be stacked '57 with dedicated Power supply for each pannel.
Haters gonna hate but thats a bargain IMO. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pair-B-W-D...item20e8ac9331
Why are they still running i wanna know..I think i paid about £100 for mine, i thought that was ok price..
I couldn't resist any longer... Hopefully they'll agree to post. If not, you might see them back on in an hour.
 Looking at the condition they are hopefully the later units
Hows tricks Jon.. Been to anymore shows lately?
Is there still a fad for these ? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-Te...item2c86ddd36a
:lolsign:
Fad my arse - best CD player I ever heard by a fair margin - providing it is the broadcast version which that one does appear to be. That's assuming you like neutrality in your cd player as opposed to something designed to sound like vinyl going through valves.
I hoped you'd bite :ner:
Good price innit ?
LOL - yes it is an excellent price. If I hadn't already spent the entire year's hi-fi budget by the end of February I would snap it up since my broadcast version isn't working and the other one I have needs mods to the power supplies before it will sound as good as the broadcast. I'm trying to be satisfied with less....
This one is cheaper http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1213811183...84.m1436.l2649
so far
Aye it's certainly cheap alright
(and lethal voltages) but I'd love to have the pair of these for the sheer hell of it. Only one currently for sale, so I'm out :D

I love your quirky taste in kit, Andy! :)
Marco.
Andy - you might like to look at this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Parmeko-Tu...78543990&rt=nc
Ought to be right up your street! ;)
I've been watching that one for a while now Barry.
It started out with a BIN price of about £5.5k and has been coming down little by little and this time round up for auction. Very tempting at the current level but I suspect there will be a last minute frenzy. NO PX25's with it either so that needs for be factored in too. I also think it will be almost impossible to find another so it's really for the dedicated mono enthusiast.
I do like the style though. it's not disimilar the the pseudo Western Electric amps that Line Magnetic are producing
http://www.toneimports.com/lmaudio/lmaudioHome.html
Coincidently the LM1 amp uses a 212 triode, the same as the 4212E's in the amps in my previous post
Great stuff. any photo's ?
KLH Model 6. Need some tlc but should be worth the effort

I'll let you know if they're old or new[er] one's when they arrive.
Anyone familiar with the "Revox A78" ? Looks a bit of a beast.
Seems cheap  http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yaqin-MS-8...item35d95fc3ea
Low use ZYX R100H MC cartridge. These are superb, currently selling new at a bit short of a grand, so this one may be a bit of a bargain as the price is £325 at the moment. There's not much at their price that comes close to them. I've got the H and H2 versions, lovely!

Thanks for that André, most information available is in German unsurprisingly ! Its local so I'll put a snipe on...
Just bought this, couldn't resist for £25 even though its probably crap :o http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2312812052...84.m1497.l2649
I got a few 60's Trio amps, they sound good especially the phonostage, don't see why the amp section in the reciever should not sound ok..
15wpc of Japanese transistor goodness, or badness as the case may be !
I like how its built in the valve receiver style... If nothing else it'll make a nice ornament :)
Pair of vintage IMF TLS50 transmission line speakers, may go cheapish. Bids up to £126 at the moment. I like these, decent and potent sounding, deep bass! The most manageable of the proper IMF TLS speakers.

Infamous Philips 'Black Turnip' pre-amp, bit of a ding to the rack mount otherwise looks clean.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Philips-Bl...3D321454465852
I nearly bought the pre and power from Emporium years ago when their prices were keen but I ummed and ahhed and someone got in there first. Always wanted to know if they were as bad as was claimed, I bet they aren't.
"Black turnip" Here's one blokes opinion http://zstereo.co.uk/2013/06/10/philips-black-tulip/
I dont know about any of that but looking at internal pictures of the amps on Google image search they look to be well enough put together.
