Prine's latest
This guy can sing and is brilliant live . I went to see him a few years ago in Stoke and he had a throat infection, it didn't stop him, he sang the first half of the show but for the second half he had the audience stand up and sing all his hits while he and his group played along.
This album covers tracks from his time with Ace to current releases under his own label.

Time to get my cat suit, stacks and make up out, this is such a good Bowie album and the 180gm pressing is superb.

:)Confession time - I like everything they do - great music and lyrics and Garvey's voice is wonderful.
Guy Garvey did a question and answer session at the Manchester Festival a few years back (with Dave Haslam) and arrived on stage with a bottle of Highland Park. (Good choice but kept it to himself!) He told the audience that when "One day like this" was released Elbow were approached by an ad agency and were offered £1million+ to use the track behind a Weetabix ad. They turned it down because they would have lost control of how their music was used. He said it was a tough decision to make because at the time they were only just breaking through with album sales and several of the band had young families to support.
Last saw them live at Jodrell bank with the telescope dish as backdrop, great night despite the weather - pi55ed down from start to finish.
A bit of Smooth Operator.... a seriously good album

Listening to this on the basis of “Slow Walking” which is my chillout track of the year. Some great sounds.

Influences by Mark King of Level 42 fame. A departure from his usual style and recorded mostly in real time.

Still have a soft spot for this album as it was my first JB album, bought immediately after seeing her support Natalie Merchant.

A friend sent me this new CD, he thought I would like it and I have to say one of the best new rock albums I have heard this year IMO

Just finished listening to the other CD my friend Russ kindly sent me to cheer me up, described as post punk, sort of but not all, it's rather good and has had some rave reviews, its their debut album, if they keep this up then they should go far. I would recommend you give them a listen.
