"But really, which part of London are you from?" (To be repeated 7 times.) :hmm:
I'm having a "doppler" scan today on my lower leg which recently suffered an injury and is just not healing. I think the idea is to check my veins/arteries are ok to have a compression bandage on (which will supposedly speed healing).
Thing is, a nurse ordered the appointment 5 weeks ago, and since then I've had a plastic surgeon tell me to cancel the appointment as it's pointless, and another nurse tell me it's important and shouldn't be cancelled. Oh well, better to have and not need, than to need and not have...
I've got the day off, got to use up my holidays before end of the year.
try and get time in a hyperbaric chamber.. supposed to speed healing.
Interesting... many years ago, due to a cock up in calculations when scuba diving at altitude, my uncle got decompression sickness, and spent 2 weeks spending time in what I think was called a hyperbaric chamber. Had to go up to Aberdeen for it. He was told by doctors to never dive again as it could end him. So he switched to a less risky pursuit - rock climbing
I think some people just like being on the edge, makes them feel alive. Not me :nono:
Yeah, this one in Aberdeen was back in the 80s, they're probably everywhere these days, as they will be more affordable. Like flat screen tellys.

seem plentiful..
That looks like it could be beneficial, though strangely the nurse performing the doppler scan and compression bandage had no knowledge of this.
Anyway, it turns out my lower leg veins and arteries are tip top, which is nice.
Only problem is that the bandaging is so thick I can hardly get my boots on. Which is a good excuse for swerving work for a few days. But if this is going to be 3 or 4 weeks I'm going to have to find something nice and wide for my foot which will also be waterproof. Because I can ill-afford to stay home till after Christmas.
I'll have a poke round on Amazon, see if there's anything that will do the job.
steel toed ankle boot, shoe etc
Might just go with one of these. Be ok for light duties I think, let my lad do the hard graft. £25 off the Amazon.

I think folk should seriously consider stocking up on everything including keeping cars filled/charged up. If the current situation descends into a general strike, which seems a distinct possibility, availability of everything including services may become problematic!
Good advice. And petrol prices have dropped a fair bit recently so better now than later.
Is living like a hermit with no TV or radio the only way to avoid Maria bloody Carey with her Godawful 'All I want for Christmas'? It's the aural equivalent of my bowel movements, only more frequent :steam:
I've seen it reported that the song has given her over $60m worth of royalties in 25 years. And she has the nerve to say "I don't want a lot for Christmas". She could always give the money to a worthy cause, but the homeless won't be holding their breath.
I've never forgiven her for ruining Nilsson's "Without You" :( with her stupid face, stupid warbling, and a man-made cleavage you could drive a bus through.
Harry never saw it coming. She obviously thought "Hey I could do better than that", and a year later poor Harry's heart couldn't cope with hearing it one more time. And I bet she wouldn't have lasted five minutes on Harry's and John Lennon's 'lost weekend'. She'd have got sick of all the "Get them out for the lads" chants, and gone home in a huff with her entourage.
Just listening to the Health Secretary, James Cleverly on Sky News. Usual simplistic obfuscating and blustering, not properly addressing questions at all. Typical Tory politician and clearly not living up to his name!
shows how clever we can be...

Well I've gone through all the posts on AoS, and there's nothing left to look at on Ebay and Amazon. And Mrs. P has just started watching Netflix's Harry and bloody Meghan. I don't want to overstate my disinterest in their "plight" for fear of being branded a racist. As Dusty was wont to say, I just don't know what to do with myself :( I Feel trapped, like in a dutch oven.
Blokes looking at porn on their laptop, this is how it starts :(
Think I'll just have a nap.
Play some music!
cook summat up for tomorrow?:ner:
It makes a mockery of people around the world who are suffering real racist violence, they both make me puke. I am not remotely interested in them or any of the royals in fact, and wish we'd just get rid of the institution of royalty, and aristos, and the House of lords.
My opinion might not be popular here, but I actually don't mind the Royal Family and all the pomp that goes with it. An integral part of British life imo, and value for money too. I don't have the figures, but I'm betting their existence brings in more money than it costs.

The ladies won though, that's a thing to celebrate.
Our local beef farmer who sells some great beef ,came to us with some stuff we ordered . She put a carrier bag in my hand with a fresh Ox heart in it .
Not usually squeamish but I have trimmed it up and put it in the slow cooker with some beef stock ,garlic and paprika ,oregano ,and going to cook it on slow all day for tonights tea
I fully expect it to be lovely ,whereas my wife nearly runs outta the kitchen at the mention of it
As the saying goes ,if you eat all the best bits then you have to make full use of every bit ,bar the squeek
