I used to have one of these, lovely amp with that instantly recognisable "three Martini sound" http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Marantz-10...item35e1a5bb0a
If the lager is Stella then Naim Nait 3 :eyebrows:
The Marantz are warm & euphonic making everything sound "nice" [thats the three Martini bit - Like listening to your system half cut!]
Ive got that in my watch list...
These are pretty rare - AR LST
For £800 I'd expect the bass unit surrounds to have been dealt with!
Not sure which model these are but a pair of JPW's anyone?

Ap2's! Both drivers are Vifa are they are really decent, not to say very good with the apropriate amp.
Not seen these Royds before http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Royd-Derwe...item418c7ec148
Hear hear ! Old Akroyd loved them though, enough to use them in his not inexpensive Revelation range at least.
The purple domes are Wharfedale's I think ? As for the bass drivers I have no idea, the basket's remind me of early Castle stuff :hmm: wheres Andr'e when you need him :D
Just won this on eBay:

Alright, it's not strictly Hi-Fi, but it'll be decent quality being Cyrus branded and a good few quid new. Mine for a fiver!!
It's the second time it was listed. I was tempted first time round and it got no bids. This time I thought I'd go for it. Just a mile down the road from me too. Nice.
I'll use it with one of the tellys.
Can't imagine that this RTR is too common in this country.
A real rarity - SONY DAS-702ES
Isn't this a very good price for those? :stalks:

Opps, saw it too quicly and took it as a pair for sale! :D
Yes, even with the water damage they are worth having. Looks like the bass drivers are affected as well and likely need reconing. A good few quid's worth of bits there though, the compression drivers, horns and lenses have to be worth a couple of hundred. Not my favourite JBL, very coloured, I've heard them a good few times.
One thing to bear in mind. if the damp has affected the magnet/pole assemblies the speakers may end up useless, as the rusted parts will eventually bind the voicecoils.
They work… They don't work…

Yes, they have a very wooden honk through the whole of the upper bass and midrange handled by the bass driver. It's not just the driver's fault, the enclosure sounds underdamped (and possibly underbraced). For some reason, the very similar L300 seems not quite so bad (still pretty coloured though), that may just be down to the varying environments I've heard them in.
Dunno if THESE are any good or not?
The L200 cabinet could do with a bit more bracing and really benefits from some more radical upgrades in the driver department but it's not an inexpensive process
The L300 and it's pro sibling the 4333 a different beasts to the L300 and use a longer horn that crooses overy properly at 800Hz and a much better bass driver, the 2231a which offers good deep bass with no boom. There is also the added benefit of the 077/2405 tweter. I'm surprised that you thought the L300's coloured and that is a trat they exibit little of unless there was something wrong with the ones you heard. Upgrades are relatively straightforward. Reconing the 2231 to 2335 spec and using a charge coupled crossover is all you need.
Been playing with this since I picked it up the other day. It sounds bloody amazing for what is I suppose a multimedia system. I'm feeding it with a Meridian 507 and it's not disgraced itself at all. Room fillingly loud and clean with proper bass. Great little thing. :)
I cannot put into words how much I want this....
Thorens TD224
Lol! I can sell my TD135 MkII a few quids cheaper, you'll need a smaller hat!
