I know you're just trying to help, and that's the way I'm taking it, but you don't know what I'm like when it comes to things like this. I prefer to own my music collection, and I also love the process of (physically) shopping for it.Quote:

But CDs? They just occupy space and once on a hard drive that's backed up I'd say they are more freakin' reliable anyway. I HATE optical drives. They are a constant source of non-working with all discs pain. And they do not last in an awful lot of casea and become so outdated they cannot be replaced.

My wife has just got a sonic jewelery cleaner. Apparently it can be used to clean CDs. I wonder about cartridges? Diamond could fall of I guess... that'd be fun. Not! Might work though but conventional methods are best I suspect.
I love CD physical media, I guess it's what I grew up with.
We are currently going through what vinyl went through in the 80s - I picked up all of Kruder & Dorfmeister's back-catalogue & spin-off projects for £16 incl. P&P a couple of weeks ago - CD, tape, DAT, whatever, physical media has its appeal. :)
