Welcome, Steven. My mate is a 911 fan (and ex 911 racer) and a real petrolhead. He calls me a dieselhead now, but of the performance variety.
The SME 3009 was my very first proper hi-fi purchase, from Laskys. Great arm, fab build quality.
Welcome to AoS, Steven. Got a 3009 but never a 911 - at one point about 10 years ago my 4 best mates all Porkers - one had a 944 Turbo, one a late 928, another a Boxster S and the last one a 911 Carrera 4... I felt very much the poor relation at the time in my company Mondeo!
Anyway, good luck with the hifi kit, should be able to put together a great system based on what you've got I suspect. Enjoy the forum.
Awesome classic.I've had some cartridges fitted to em that were technically insaine compatibility wise but worked perfect! I loved the 3010R, i've been considering buying an old Garrard '401' with vintage SME just as an ornament, a testiment to such marvelous British engineering of years past.
Mmm Sir Archie Splinter.....Mmmm i just had a feeling hat no-one else would have used this handle.... And i quite fancied being promoted from my usual 'Reverend Eusabian Snickleberry' !
It reminds me of Archie Bunker, as namechecked in The KLF's 'Kylie Said To Jason'

Trapped in a rerun
Of a seventies sitcom soap
"Some Mothers Do Have 'Em"
Or "The Archie Bunker Show"

My faither called me Sparra when I was a wee laddie ...so in his memory I use Sparrow on all forums where possible
Nothing profound. In fact, totally random. OK, I was born in 1956, so maybe not quite so random after all. :)
Being a hi-fi-addict over wi-fi I abbreviated my (double) surname to Fi-Wi. :)
Mines obvious really. I'm a big Zappa fan...:eyebrows:
