A case of Holywood meddling - does my head in why details like this are messed with but it doesn't change the story and Holywood has been very guilty over the years of gross distortions in historical films.Quote:

Nice touch by the director, when the censors had a problem with Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman in a scene in bed together, director Stanley Donen shot an overhead split screen sequence showing both stars side by side in bed, but with a clearly visible "border" between them.
Tonight at 2100 it's the last episode of The Curse of Oak Island. They have nearly drained the swamp and think they may have found the vault. No doubt it will all be a big anti-climax since these things almost always are but I'm still quite excited...
DiCaprio is on at 17.20 today film 4 in TITANIC. Not my favourite version but no doubting the effects etc. Good acting too.
'A Night To Remember' is the classic Titanic film. But 'Titanic' is okay, I suppose. It would have been better if the Dicaprio character fell overboard in the first half hour though ;) Have a watch and count how many times he says 'Rose'. About 50 times too many, really gets on my tits after a bit.
Yes I like the Kenneth More version too. Has the atmosphere.
Today at 11am on film four John Wayne takes his young COWBOYS and leads them to manhood as they duff up Bruce Dern. 1972, it seems so far away now but I remember seeing this in the day. Wayne was immense and Dern became a hate figure throughout the world, with death treats etc coming his way. Such is the power of film.
The fighting seabees is coming on film 4 at 16.40 today. Big John Wayne and his love interest the lovely Susan Hayward.
Well, who watched ‘The Living Dead’ last night, on Fox? As usual it was superb! :)

Coming on the drama channel shortly are the first 2 episodes of the 1999 Richard e Grant version of the scarlet Pimpernel. It was filmed In Prague as it was as close as they could get to 18th century Paris.
Saw a trailer for a Dr Who episode featuring William Hartnell being a start of all the various Drs getting a showing for what I thought was this weekend. I can't seem to find it listed however.
The Horror channel are showing old DR Who at the moment on weeknights. Could be you saw a trailer for that.

My father had a work collegue who was one of the pilots in the Fairey Swordfish whose job it was to keep tracking the Bismark. Apparantly it was on his watch that they lost track of it.
