I would have questioned your misunderstanding, however I have noticed your location, so realise that 'wanker' is a unique British euphemism and as a term not necessarily known to you. Back in the 70s I worked for a civil engineering company on the admin side of things. One day the (Scottish) Site Agent came in looking most perturbed. One of the foremen had occasion to tell him that a particular job was simply not feasible and he was not prepared to spend anymore time attempting to complete the task which in his opinion was just a complete waste of time and effort. So what, well this being in Liverpool the foreman didn't quite put it in those terms, what he actually said was "...you can fook that, I've seen me arse with it..." only being Scottish he was unfamiliar with the local phraseology and was visibly upset at the very thought:lol::lol:

My user name... Goes back a while... Actually, I prolly got it when I first tried to set up an e-mail account. You know how that works, you keep dialing in user names and the thing only spits back at you the name's taken, wouldn't you like instead the same but with a _345897634 added to it?

So there... I got two first names, one of which is Alex, but that of course was taken by a few million peeps, so I extended it to Alexus (from Ms Winston see below) but that was not enough either.

So I just popped in an extra X and that seemd to do the trick. Somehow, most probably because I'm a lazy individual, I just stuck with it on my subsequent fora application, so there it is once more. :carrot:

Mine is from a series of books called The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant. So far 8 books written and two to go. A bit like Lord of the Rings in its setting except the main character has leprosy and is despised by people around him.
About 1.2 million words so far and I have read it three times so I must like it.

Yup, that's my story too.

Setting up email when I first went on to the internet .... JANDL - Jerry & Lindsey (the missus ;)) ... damn thing wouldn't take JANDL .... so after several tries I finally ended up at JANDL100 ... and I've used that as my username everywhere on t'internet ever since. Much easier than having to remember a different name for each site!

As I have been for (very) long a user/moderator of certain MMOs' forums, I have the habit of using the same username and avatar (which is one of the elite spells of GuildWars Mesmer profession, one of my favs) on all forums. Any forums for years.
I won't change, because I've too many friends around.

Mines very boring and goes back to the time I first got 56K dialup connection. I wanted an email address with Primordialsoup which was accepted but due to a connection glitch when I tried to complete the process it then said that the name was taken. I then tried Primalsoup but the same bloody thing happened again!

Eventually I managed to get Primalsea and it stuck.

Is a nickname from high school :lol:

Psion because the ubiquitous palm tops finally brought me into the digital age and 770 because Farad Azima's iconic speakers gave my record collection a new dimension whether it was the right one .... I'm still searching.

I don't have Alzheimer's - its just something of a standing joke between my wife and I - each accusing the other on a regular basis (or using it as an excuse for forgetting a birthday, anniversary, etc.) :scratch:
