Seen it for £45 Dave
Both these guys have great setups. The "jazz" piano is smokin' here; but, who is it??
At 1:38 this guy points on a classical piece that I would also love to find.
As always, any help is appreciated more than you know! Must feed the music addiction.
Looking for a minto mini LP CD issue of The Beatles 'White Album' complete with Obi strip
Well, I started this thread in Sept 2009 with a note that I was looking for a copy of this:
http://ring.cdandlp.com/dipiz/photo_.../114837100.jpg
......Jonathan Kelly's Outside - 'Waiting On You'.
I snaffled one last week & it's just arrived. Last heard in about 1985 - it'd better be as good as I remembered it! It's more about recapturing the spirit of my yoof than the music though.
I've been trying to track down an Elmore James song that was on this (fairly rare) Blue Horizon compilation album from 1969.
Elmore James - 'To Know a Man'
http://www.technodisco.net/img/track...know-a-man.jpg
A friend had the album & I just want to hear that track again- it's called 'Second Fiddle Man'. Does anyone happen to know if it appears on any other album at all?
I could buy a copy of the one pictured but they fetch more than I'm willing to pay for a chance to hear it just once or twice.
It's on none of the Elmore James titles I have.
Looking at the track listing for the Blue Horizon collection of that name, it dosen't seem to be there either  : http://www.allmusic.com/album/to-know-a-man-r107105.
Anyway it sound like this - 'diddley diddley diddley diddley - dah dah'!
Ooops - Village idiot moment!
I've amended my post.
The album was called 'To Know A Man' - the track I'm looking for was called 'Second Fiddle Man'. It was written by Bushy Head, who also recorded under the name of Johnny Walker. Actually, I don't think it did go like that Barry. I think Elmore James' repertoire for guitar riffs was a bit bigger than Jeremy Spencer's!
Looked for the Dixie Chicks' 'Home' shortly after it was sold out. The rare ebay copy was fetching crazy price then. It's funny that these albums don't sell well on vinyl and take a while for dealers to clear stock but soon as out of print some fool will pay £100+.
On behalf of a friend, I'm trying to locate the first Steve Winwood album.
It seems to be only available as a Japanese import at the moment & twenty odd quid is a bit much for her to be paying for a CD.
If anyone sees a copy or has one spare, I'd be keen to hear from you.
..........it's this one:
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA300_.jpg
Thanks a lot.
Looks hard to find on CD for some reason. Ebay has plenty of used vinyl. Try Discogs for used copies.
Hi Tim,
Why not send your vinyl copy to one of our members who has a soundcard and a decent T/T, and get them to record the album onto CD for you, which you can then rip onto your music server?
All the guys who post needledrops here regularly would be able to do it easily
Marco.
Well, I've spent hours trawling around trying to find a copy of this CD for my friend.
I took a closer look at the high priced ones available to see what was so special about them. It seems that they're all Japanese imports. So I trotted off down the information superbridleway to Japan to see if I could do my own little import job and save Paula a few pennies. Every single copy I found available in Japan was even more expensive. Why's that, I wondered.
Because they're all US imports, that's why!
So I trotted off back down the jolly old wwwdots to the US of A.
I discovered that there are plenty of copies of this album available in the States, but they're all pretty pricey.................
Why's that then?
I'll tell you why...........
.............they were all Japanese imports.
So how does that work then?
And who's ripping who off?
And isn't there an easier & cheaper way of doing this?
I think my suggestion above is best, Chris :)
Marco.
T'aint gonna work me ol' mucker!
I've already suggested that there are several ways of doing this, including your option, Marco. However, computer files are not an option and a CD copy is out of the question as well, because her CD player won't play them. She also wants to replace her much loved vinyl copy with a 'proper' CD release - the artwork & sleeve notes are important to her.
Gotcha, dude, although you could probably download the artwork and sleeve notes from somewhere, print them off, then attach them to a copy CD...
However, a 'proper' CD would of course be better. I'll ask next time I'm in Grey & Pink in Chester - they've got some pretty rare ones in there
Marco.
Does it have to be a CD copy? Is this of any interest?
Cheers
I'm afraid so, Barry. She already has a good vinyl copy, but wants to have a CD instead - big record sale coming up, which I may well be presiding over for her.
Thanks for looking though - and that goes for everyone so far who has done so (PM's as well as here on the thread).
Anyone got a copy of simple minds' new gold dream on DVD-audio disc? I don't have a DVD-a player so I only want it for the stereo mix which seems lame but the mixes are different to the original album.
I'm looking for the following releases by Ozrics related band The Ullulators. All are cassette only releases, and were available through Better Days distribution in the late 80's / early 90's:
The Ullulators - Share A Clam With
The Ullulators - Beyond The Gates of Ull
The Ullulators - Monads Of Mongonia
The Ullulators - Banging Bones
The Ullulators - Yet-Nam-Lai
I am only interested in original cassette releases, not copies. Original releases had generic tape shells, with printed labels.
Any offers considered!
Good luck nick, ive been trying to relocate my old Gong GAS Tapes i mislaid years ago with no luck..:(
Thanks Andr'e. I had a few GAS tapes from back in the day but I'm not sure where they are now! Have you checked the Planet Gong website? They have a good shop there which might have what you're after.
The original tapes are cooler than any file downloads or CDr rereleases though!
All - my tip, probably seen before, is www.secondspin.com. It's a US based second hand CD merchant ... Has a good turnover and I have snagged some bargains - not necessarily rare tho...
Have good rates for UK post - regular offers by email and excellent with any issues (refunded no question when I had a skipping CD)
Keep orders small and you are guaranteed no tax!!
Tim

Presumably you are now prepared to 'spend big' on vinyl .....
PJ HARVEY - Stories from the city, stories from the sea. I bought it back in 2000 and lost it. Might be in the loft but I doubt it. Now the LP reaches dizzy prices.
Won't be selling mine. Great album and mystery why Universal don't reissue this. So far only 4 track Demos got a reissue on their Back to Black series. Frankly they should reissue the entire PJ catalogue. Cheapest asking price is £76. People now seeing vinyl as some sort of easy cash resource. I can't see these selling quickly. I have quite a lot of limited vinyl from the last decade that now is priced at silly money. Must have been several thousand pressed of these so these prices are not justified.
Paul.
Anyone got the Queen LP Innundo in at least vg nick??
The original cut is on thin vinyl and have purchased a couple copies that would be regarded VG condition. Both had issues partly due to mistreatment I suspect. Since it is a digital recording I suggest buying the UK 180g remastered reissue from a couple years ago. Sounds as good to me. Should still be some new around and no more expensive than the scarce original.

Paul.
Look for a mint one ;)

DON'T SMOKE IN BED LP

I've been looking for a copy of XTC - Nonsuch on vinyl for a long time.... Does anyone have one? If so, was it hard to come by?
I've got a copy - it was easy to find. I walked into a shop & there it was.
...........OK, so admittedly it was the day after it was released.
You ain't 'aving mine though!
http://www.ebay.com/itm/XTC-Nonsuch-...-/360383451797
Better price on this one, but you missed it.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/XTC-Nonsuc...-/160625230874
My favourite XTC album...
Nonsuch also seems difficult to find on the Remastered CD it's the only one on virgin that is deleted..I bought a dirt cheap original CD as I refused to pay over the top for a second hand remaster. Tis a lovely album and I wouldn't mind it on vinyl too..:)
I've got it on a Japanese Mini-LP issue. Can't remember when or where I got it, it must have been a very good deal as I wouldn't have coughed big money for it (I just wanted a copy of it on CD, to replace an old cassette version I had back in the olden days).
I bought all the japanese mini lps as soon as they were released, it amazes me seeing some of the prices they go for...
Never heard of that album.
Must get a copy of black sea again.
Have about 4 of there albums but never play them.
Best track on it for me......
Isn't taste funny?
That has to be one of my least favourite tracks by XTC, along with Wonderland and The Somnambulist.
I love this one:
I can't pick a favourite because it's one of those albums where every track is fantastic. Partridge's lyrics are absolutely storming throughout. Mrs B has a soft-spot for 'Bungalow' though!
Wtd: a totally mint in every respect.. Pink Floyd 'The Pink Floyd Collection' vinyl box set.
I think André is after the Italian box set pictured in his original post. I've never seen a copy 'in the flesh' (ha!), but there are a couple for sale on discogs at the moment.
Cheers,
Keith
Yes Keith but not the Italian one it's the German isshew i want 1st Issshew (1C 198-53 826 / 38)
I'm also wanting the 'First IX' box set aswell UK edition (PF11) This has 'The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn', 'A Saucerfull Of Secrets' & 'Relics'.. where as 'The Pink Floyd Collection' set has the first two albums as 'A Nice Pair', no 'Relics'
Hi,
Can anyone help me out with a copy of ambient 3, laraaji - days of radiance on vinyl, cat.no eged 19, this is the series that Brian Eno was involved in, his offerings being Music For Airports / On Land etc.
Can only find copies in the USA, must be some in the UK somewhere.
