No money for them and no room :(
I have a pair of Tonnoy Glenairs 15" DC , https://www.google.com/search?client...X2bD6UQ4dUDCAY
My H2's aparently were the last pair made with black piano gloss rear baffles / panels
So, it's farewell to my lovely Tannoys: sale complete. I will miss them. So why did I let them go? I've got an accoustically difficult room and the Tannoys to breathe needed to be a little too far out in the room for aesthetic harmony. Also, I was always slightly peeved that I couldn't use my Cannonballs or Mastersound 845 monoblocs with them. Tannoys demand feedback /higher damping factor for good bass performance which neither monoblocs have.
So I've replaced them with some JBL K2 9800s which work better nearer the rear wall, and are narrower and taller. This reduces their footprint and means the tweeter is at ear height where the Tannoys was too low. Next test is to see if they work with the Mastersounds! The top end is very revealing, a bit like a pair of electrostatics!
Hi David,
Was that Oscar's pair of JBL's that you've bought ?
