That was a huge jump in SQ, but from a vanilla, Chord original lead so it had to be better, but it did come as a huge surprise.
Acid test came yesterday when freshly fettled Ultimate Mk3s arrived.
A very stiff 2.6 cable version and the normal.

Wow. That is a huge jump up in SQ for sure. Great opening of the whole soundstage.

Change to Mk3 Ultimate
Ooh nice, like that extra detail, the sound was masked before, now revealed even more clearly.
Change to Mk3 Ultimate 2.6 cable
Small increase in SQ, well worth having.

Isis CDP wth Kimber Signature- very nice

Great, Mike, mirrors my findings exactly. The combination of carbon braid and filters are doing something for sound quality, which is amazing given that you and I both run regenerators. There's a lot to power treatment that we don't yet fully understand.
