The Maxims are well overpriced crap anyway. I've owned them. Usually I paid about £8 a pair at boot sales and they're not very good.

Rare and interesting Pioneer tt. Shame it is not 100%. Still might be worth a punt at the asking.
These are cabs from GEC metal coned loudspeakers. Originally each contained two 8" ish metal coned drivers, one with a tweeter screwed into the pole piece. Inside a felt baffle hung down, about midway between the drivers and the back. From the cabinetry and the felt baffle (which I think was a Briggs design), the cabs might well have originated with Wharefdale, but made specially for GEC.Quote:
