So - I should delay our Hay visit to give the shops a chance to restock on classical vinyl and CDs? ;)

Fortunately (for you, lol), when we hit there, Del was hungry so we made a fast exit to the pub! :eyebrows:

Was giving this a spin earlier. I love a bit of Ms Norman, but she is the icing on a very lovely cake with Julia Varady all impassioned intensity as the composer, and Edita Gruberova all sparkle as Zerbinetta and the (originally Philips) recording a lovely blend of chamber intimacy and warm ambience. Delicious.

Very nice 'middle of the road' performance. Nicely articulated, natural unspectacular recording, especially the winds. I enjoyed it.

Guillou is always interesting - sometimes in a good way, sometimes kind of eccentric.
