A persistent rumour regarding London's population of feral Ring Necked Parakeets is that they originated from birds that escaped or were released from the filming of this movie. This claim was initially considered dubious though it was given more credence when a zoologist admitted her grandparents fed them.
I see green Parakeets quite often, their screech is distinctive, as is their colour. They seem to have adapted well to UK life and apparently have little negative impact on indigenous bird life as their diet and roosting/nesting habits are different. I quite like them.Quote:

Film made a nice profit and was fairly well recieved by critics overall, but not as well as it should have imo. Also has an excellent soundtrack.
