A rare and little known classic Onkyo 433 tuner from the early seventies. This was the partner to the renowned 725 integrated amplifier. Were talking Luxman standards of quality here. Wish I still had my 725, I'd buy this to go with it.

Bit mystified by those. Too short to be Corner Canterbury's or Yorks and the side vents are not seen on the Corner Lancasters as far as I recall. They'll fetch a pretty penny whichever model they are. Assuming the sale gets enough publicity, I reckon you won't see much change out of three grand.

Cabs are non-factory it looks like to me, and therefore more or less worthless I'd have thought. Not sure what the drive units are may even be mismatched. Certainly had the cones done at different times.

That's a possiblity. The grille cloth is certainly not Tannoy original. Interesting speakers nonetheless.

Did many people in the sixties and seventies buy drivers and crossovers from Tannoy and have custom cabs made up?

In the same way people who use to buy Garrard decks and Trio amps and house them in old style gramaphone furniture pieces.

I did in the seventies. Bought new Tannoy drivers and built my own cabinets rather than have them built. I'm sure many others did too, as the drive units with crossovers were available on their own, although the average buyer would no doubt have bought ready made complete speakers.

Orion are a huge Japanese company. Make tvs dvds etc. A lot of their bit go into other companies bits
