Not sure I get the similarity between The Doors and Echo and the Bunnymen, I also like both. I had never considered The Doors lyrics to be poetic but maybe that's just me. Lyrics and the poetry is a tricky thing, it varies so much, sometimes a song is just sentences making observations, other times it has depth and meaning in the words used like poetry.
I listened to this one earlier, I had never heard it before, it was a great listen and it is a great album. I was tempted to purchase when I saw the re-release and I already have another Traffic album which I love. This re-issue/re-master is very good IMO, nice and open sound, great dynamics, and quiet pressing, they must have taken time with it.

Just finished listening to this one, I am not sure why but I never really got into Traffic when I was younger but I really like them now. Another great re-issue/re-master worth its price.
