Even though they were played to death in the 80's after Brothers in Arms came out they certainly knew how to turn out a tune or two, marvellous stuff. Every rock fan should have at least this compilation of theirs IMO.

Another recent acquisition from the vinyl trading, one I have not listened to for years, I had forgotten how good it is, a challenging listen in parts but at the same time extremely good.
It was their 2nd most successful after "In The Court of the Crimson King". It is ranked number 1 for albums in 1974 on BestEverAlbums, and there are some extremely good albums in 1974. https://www.besteveralbums.com/years...ir=desc&page=1
The musicianship on it is quite stunning, and musically/rhythmically some challenging compositions. It's not for everyone but I would recommend a listen.

A great Album, one of my all time favourite groups through all the line up and style changes. It's hard to pick a favourite, but I'd go for 'Larks tongues in aspic' if you pushed me...Quote:

Re-listening to this one given to me by my friend Jon, considering it has had only one clean and is 50 years old it is amazingly good. It's not a 1st press but is very early on probably 3rd press from the same year, I also have to much more recent 2016 re-mastered release. What is noticeable on the original is that there is much more punch and definition, especially to the bass, transients and dynamics seem much better. It is a favourite of mine as it came out when I was in 6th form college and we listened to it a lot and I have always liked it, I was never very happy with re-master so I very pleased to have an early copy that sounds great.
