It was manually entered into the box in Volumio, Rupert - the same password that's currently working when I use Spotify externally on my laptop (out with of Volumio), so the password must be correct.

I had the same problem. It turned out the /etc/spopd.conf had the wrong spotify credentials in it. This file is not updated when you change the credentials from the menu. It did work however when I changed the credentials in the conf file directly with nano. After that I could login normally to spotify and everything works fine!
Alternatively, try updating your Volumio installation. From the Volumio web GUI System >> System Updates.... maybe they have fixed the problem in the mean time..
Ah, I see.... No way am I attempting to go near any of that, so I shall wait until I can get hold of Duncan (the chap who set up the Pi and Volumio for me), and he should be able to sort it.
However, could you link to where you obtained the above quote? I can't see the discussion you're referring to.

Cheers. Interesting.... I don't know why they can't just get these things right in the first place, or indeed why the issue hasn't been fixed since it was reported last year! :rolleyes:
As Volumio was only installed on my laptop last week, when the Pi was set-up, one would presume that if the error had been fixed, I'd have picked up the fix when the install was done?
Therefore, unless they've only attended to the matter in the last week (unlikely surely?), I doubt reinstalling Volumio will cure the problem.

Interesting how Digital stuff can still be manipulated to get more out of it and as DACs and streamers and software etc all improve the bar will get even higher.
However no matter which way it is done for me it still sound digital. I still prefer the distortion and colouration of valves and analog, not the squeaky clean precision of 011010101 and transistors. :lol:

I'm glad you've embraced streaming Marco, good on you for trying it, my 'epiphany' moment was back in 2005 with the SqueezeBox MK1 when it was indistinguishable in SQ from my CD5/FlatCapII with just the addition of a linear PSU. I've not looked back since, however, streaming still has a bit of a way to go to be truly plug-n-play IMHO. If you are not at all computer literate the simplest of issues like your Spotify one above means you have to be reliant on others to get it working….current solutions are close but there's no cigar available yet.Quote:
