From the Grave

How about setting aside half an hour or so of your time this week to have a little rootle around in the Art of Sound Library? The scans section is full of interesting stuff for example.

Here's a good idea. Back near the beginning of last year, Neil wrote about taking a fresh look at something he'd hitherto taken for granted, with interesting results.

Here's a thread that was started by Varun, which came about as a result of his owning two turntables, on which he wasn't able to adjust vertical tracking angle. It could be of interest to Lee, who was asking about VTA just recently. Barry provided an excellent reply which quoted several interesting links on the subject. (Note to self - try to remember to find out where Barry buys his size 8 squirrels).

Well, it's the final Sunday night/Monday morning of 2011, so I reckon it's a good time to think of a Thread of the Year.

For me, it didn't take too long to think of one - it had to be this one (post no. 11349) from Erik van Voorst which started in May and during which, he gave us a glimpse of some of the amazing projects he has undertaken.

Happy New Year to all on AoS from me - here's hoping that in a year's time, things look good as we look back on 2012.

This morning, I was reading the new copy of Mojo and was reminded of the passing away recently of Jackie Leven and then this evening, I coincidentally stumbled across this thread that was posted a while back on AoS.

Have a read, it may inspire you to seek out some new music, or it may remind you of a sadly unrecognised talent.

This thread was suggested by Alex (UK). It never took off properly but if developed, it could kind of lead us nicely into a project which we need to do for the AoS Library, so some helpful input is required, if you nice people don't mind.
