I have an SME arm tucked away and intend to use that on a homebuilt plinth. The plan was to use the platter, motor and electronics from the Technics unit, but after stripping the electrics and rebuilding into a separate case with a new power supply I run out of time, plugged it all back together and have been using it as-is ever since. Now the (I suspect) speed control IC has failed for a second time I'm thinking I'll need to source a stouter drive system for the final incarnation....Quote:
