They sold for £322.80, which is probably twice what they'd have fetched five years ago, so even the plastic coned 'pepperpots' are on the way up. Just as well maybe, they've been rather maligned, as they sound pretty decent.

Finishes in half an hour. Only bid to £102 so far. These are amazingly good turntables. I can't think of a sub £1000 new deck I'd rather have.

They were under forty quid new if I recall. I've had a couple of pairs come my way for some reason. Anybody expecting to enjoy MC's properly will be missing out using these, they're simply not very good.

They work reasonably well with very low impedance cartridges, including SPUs.

They look thoroughly wrong. Non-original B&W tweeters and how are the tweeters held together? The four screws holding the main tweeter/magnet assembly to the front plates appears to be missing. Not to mention all the dings in the finish.

I can never understand why DM2's and DM2a's go so cheap. They must be the most underrated true classic British speakers.

Even the far less able DM4 fetches near twice as much these days.

Yes, I think it's just the faceplate of the tweeters left.

Agreed, I had four pairs of DM2 / DM2a at one time.

They are pretty good as is, but I reckon replacing the DM2 bass unit with a Dalesford would make them even better.

I think the main problem with the DM2 is the weight, hernia inducing!

I have some Sony old speakers that use similar looking but 6 1/2" units in, along with a small Peerless cone tweeter, they sound pretty good.

I paid £50 for my DM2as. Used for audio/visual duties, and yes they're damned heavy!

Everybody should keep one of these, even if only as a back-up amp. 'Cos you can slot one into just about any system and it will sound remarkably good.

I've owned them and each time I get one driving my big Tannoys, it puts a grin on my face. A cheap Jap integrated has no business sounding that decent! :)

My new daily Geoff now just need to find a decent phono stage for it....:) Too cheap at £45 not to grab it so i did driving the DC1000's very well indeed i am after another DCD 835 to go with it as had the pair a couple of years ago....:)

Could be that he doesn't have the din plugs for the speaker connection. I say this because I have a old itt turntable that requires din which I don't have to test to see whether it works out not
