I think he is attempting to quote a negative review from a forum which he then goes on to completely disagree with. Classic demonstration of why it pays to stay awake in grammar and punctuation lessons at school. It can cost you money :)

A nice Yammy http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1909515676...84.m1423.l2649
Sounds like the power bulb has blown & possibly the pre/power coupling switch is set incorrectly. Even if it is faulty its in lovely condition and would make a nice project :)
I do hope that was an error :stalks:

Did I ever tell you I had Leak 2075s before I went for the Linn/Naim story

The only high value item is that B&O system with the item description written in Italian & the + feedback written in pigeon Englsh... I've reported it now anyway.
Here's the real listing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Siltech-Pant...-/321204785098
I know the feeling! I had a pair in my late teens/early 20s and sold them for various reasons, but regretted it as soon as I watched the new owner drive away with them. I bought another pair about 5 years ago and fully refurbished them. They were at Scalford 2011 and they were great!
I have now sold them but am not so sad this time as I have a pair of 3090s on the 'to do' pile. It's quite a big pile as I'm sure you can imagine...
Cheap Beyer SUT anybody? £100 'buy it now'.

Whopping great Pioneer A757 integrated amp. Very nice and probably sensibly priced at £339! Looks superb.

Now I know why Russ Andrews charges for these 'ere cones (that would take me about two minutes each by the way).
It must take a great deal of effort to bugger up the countersink in the tops like that - or is it that way on purpose?? Maybe so that some ball bearings will rattle properly?

They should look like this

Also, a sort of "heads up"...
I created a new eBay account last week primarily for buying [good practice to do buying / selling on seperate accounts] It was open for a week & I hadnt bought anything on it, this morning they send me a message "£5.00 off your first purchase of £10.00 or more when paying with PayPal."
So if theres that special something you've wanted but always thought its £5 too much... You know what to do  I just bought myself some new speaker cables, should have been £12 but got them for £7 :yay:
Anyone heard these ? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wharfedale...item51b49d94e3
I love the classic styling if not those hideous gold plated plastic encased binding posts ! A couple of M4 bolts hanging out the back that you have to coil some bellwire around before clamping it with the matching nut would have been far more in keeping :D
Nice Quad 306 here in 'average' condition:lol:
In fairness, the underneath looks pretty good.

Tannoy System 10 DMT speakers in Epsom. A mate (Hi Bob) has a pair on the end of an EAR 861 valve amp and they sound superb!

(I'd buy them myself if I didn't already have a big pair of Tannoys)
I had a pair of DMT's, can't remember if they were 12's or 15's, I thought they were very average to be honest.... :(
Just saying like.... :D
Hi Bev.
You been having another of your low profile spells? Not seen much from you recently.
Anyway, the DMT10s use a very different driver to the 12s and 15s which I believe have paper pulp cones. The ten inch DMT 10 has a similar cone to the later System 1000, i.e. plastic, but to my ears sound better than the System 1000, which I've owned. They give very fine results.
I believe the 12's used a plastic cone and the 15's paper..... and I THINK I had the 12's.... I can only say that at the time I was unimpressed and I paid £1K for them then.... Things may be different now though as I have found that speakers I thought rather average then (and that includes the Heresy's!!) I now find I am impressed with.... maybe be ears have changed a bit over the years.... :lol:Quote:
