Yep, they have excellent separation and a nice warm valve feel to them:lol:

That's cheap James a late one with IEC anorl..
I bought both my kids UDM-30s when they went to uni. They're brilliant little units, nice sounding and nicely built. Both suffered from the volume control problem which is caused by grease in what is actually a rotary encoder, not a pot. Taking the encoder apart and cleaning it takes about half an hour. No parts needed, just a clean cloth.
The original Denon matching speakers were made by Mission, but I don't know what these ones are. No experience of the cassette deck either, but Denon were always pretty good with cassettes.
Nicely done, James. If I'd had that, I could have cut it down to 15 minutes!
From my last era in the industry, the Denon/Mission SCM50 speakers had some bass projection, the 30's popping if you weren't careful. I forget the exact models, but the Mission 701? model also sounded great with the DM30 series.
By the way, these little units had a preamp output on them. Not sure how useful this could be since compactness was the reason why they were bought. Sonics were great as long as the speakers were efficient :)
SC-M2 are my fave's closely followed by SC-M51.
Just buy them... For goodness sake someone just buy them ! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BOWERS-WIL...item27da15bbc5

Castle's already gone!
How are these Trent's? I only know the later versions with the newer drivers but yet never heard them in person, only the York's and the floor standers Avon's.
I've heard them against wharfedale Diamond IV and preferred the Wharfies by a margin. The Castles were a bit boring in comparison. Not as good at higher volumes either, in fact the owner destroyed the bass drivers playing them too loud, he did not have that problem with the Diamonds. I do like speakers with a bit of sturm und drang, though. Still a total steal at £20.
That's funny, I don't have that much of a consideration for the Diamond's...
I used 'Trents' with the PC for quite some time till i located a pair of Tandberg 'Fasett' :eyebrows:
Nice - you got some then?
......hang on though....Tandberg begins with a 'T'.....so they'll going on the bonfire, I presume?

This bit is strange
Both speakers sound great, with plenty of bass.
Please note - one of the tweeters is not working (silent) and might need to be replaced / repaired. It has a physical damage
:o
Just applied some of this stuff to a pair of speakers http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HG-Meubeli...item1c1fa98a8b
Bloody good stuff ! Was recommended by a Dutch chap on the Lenco forums [its made in NL] I have no idea whats in it but scratches disappearing before my eyes is slightly more than I expected :stalks:
Get some before its banned ! ... I'm not saying it should be banned but you tend to find anything good that actually works tends to be illegal these days :D
... As an added bonus because I applied it indoors I'm now high as a kite :eyebrows:
I've used a few of the HG products and they all really work . Didn't know about this one.

How can an amp that consumes 1380w/6A output 2500w/125A ? :hmm:
It can't - not continuously.
Why does he say negative things about the item he is selling? "Totally lacks musicality" sums them up pretty well (a friend had TAG McLaren gear), but goodness knows why he's saying it
