Anyway, here's a YouTube video, showing the JBL speaker and amp system (I might upgrade to monoblocks, as shown), I'll be installing in my car, advertising the company I bought it from. The car shown, however, is an big Audi RS4 V8, in a rather 'interesting' colour scheme...

The big guy commentating (radio DJ) is a total cock, so try and ignore him and concentrate instead on the sound system, when that's being discussed. The head unit used is a Pioneer, which is pretty similar to my Kenwood one (shown below). The main thing to look at, however, is when the boot is opened later in the video, and how neatly the amps and sub have been housed into the boot space, which I'll be replicating in my own car:

Keep up dear boy - I sold that back in January (and still miss it...:() And it had a petrol V8 anyway....

At the opposite end of the scale, my 29 year old Volvosaurus has a similar vintage Blaupunkt radio with 4" twin cone speakers in the doors. Surprisingly, it sounds quite good.

GCSE results today for my daughter............

5 x times level 9....... 3 x level 8....... 2 x level 7.

This is the first year of this number system.

So, level 7 is an old A, level 8 is an old A star, level 9 is the highest possible and is a little higher than an A star.

So, in old money , 8 x A stars and 2 x A..... FANTASTIC !!!!!!!

Very proud of her, and pleased.
She deserves it as she worked hugely hard and found levels of determination etc that we didn’t know about, in terms of hours put in swotting.

I’m told she takes this kind of stuff from her mother. I’m not so sure.

Good results. My friends youth only took four, failed them all. Nothing like getting off to a good start in life, is there? This is a child that had to be dragged out of the house and into the car, then dragged out of the car into the school every day. And when I say dragged, I mean dragged. By the legs. You know like the cops have to do in a demo where they are doing 'passive resistance.'?

This is time of year when the big spiders come into the house, and not everyone is happy about that. Fortunately me and Mrs. P are fine with them, but when the ankle biters lived here I was constantly having to get off my arse to deal with them.

To relieve the boredom, I often didn't bother with catching them in a glass, but instead I would chase them. The thing is that they are so damn quick but have bugger all stamina so if you can keep them running, without allowing them to escape under the sofa etc, they will only last for about 20 seconds, after which they're too knackered to move and you can pick them up easily. You then have maybe half a minute before they get their breath back.

When I was young I seriously terrified of spiders. I decided enough is enough and forced myself to come to terms with them, took a while but now they fascinate me. There are few in here at present but I just let them get on with their business. The average house spider eats around 2000 bugs in it's lifetime which can't be bad. The only issue I have with them now is the cat goes ballistic chasing them around but she's such a pansy that if she catches one she gets scared and runs away.
