If the dual mass flywheel was on the blink, it could have been putting shocks through the clutch causing the rivets holding the friction plate onto the centre to fail. Looks a right mess....

Dual mass flywheel was ok. I changed it anyway, as I don’t fancy doing the job again soon.
It is from a Nissan X-Trail, so a lot of fun with transfer boxes etc.
As far as I'm concerned, cars ceased being interesting and fun when pushrod engines, leaf springs and carburettors disappeared.

I have a 2001 9-3 2.0SE, not quite a classic Saab but still enough Saab quirkiness to be well removed from the Vauxhall it was based on.
Used to have a 900. Great motor. Enjoyed it thoroughly
