It looks as though the Volvo was HER car and she MIGHT let you use it if you ask nicely Alex
As a side question is that a solar trickle charger on the dashboard of the Volvo and if so was it any good?. I don't use my car very much and the battery is always going flat.
Oh yes.

It does help, but it's many years old, new ones are better, buy as big a one as possible. I'm lucky, the cigarette lighter power socket is live all the time, so the charger plugs in there. Two different Volvo 340's there, dark colour one was replaced with the lighter one in 2011.
Have you checked the alternator charging voltage?
The charging system is fine and the alternator output is spot on spec. It's just the car is not used much and the battery runs down, probably the immobiliser. The cigarette light is switched with the ignition but fortunately the battery is in the boot so connecting the trickle charger direct to the battery is no problem, just run the wires through the ski hatch in the back seat and lay the charger on the parcel shelf. I'll have a look on Amazon for one with a decent output. Cheers Alex.
Best put a fuse in the circuit if going direct to the battery. A good and/ or uprated battery should help, Bosch Varta etc. Has the drain on the battery been checked with everything turned off? My old Volvo only has the car clock and the radio station storage drains when everything is off.
I know a little about batteries, in the mid 70's I worked on the design of electric vehicles. Went on courses about batteries and electronic controllers for electric motors.

Coco looking indignant after being marched around a freezing park! She feels the cold, jumps on the bed at night and fusses until her fleece blanket is put over her :).

my sons dog is same. gets under his bed covers
Just sitting here trying to remember parks in Southall Geoff ? ( as you do ) Seem to recall one near the ironbridge, uxbridge rd is that the one ?. Used to work at Hayes for a while and me mother
lived by Taylor Woodrows Southall / Greenford borders. I know you had doggy before, like the present as well
Bruce usually starts the night off at the end of my bed, he's a bit of a lump and has no spacial awareness so I generally fall asleep with about a 6 inch strip of the bed to myself. He also snores quite badly[emoji16] but you know what I wouldn't have it any other way. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...1f762280fb.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...25a447b71d.jpg

Last pic day out in Portsmouth while van was getting tail lift fixed. Strangely Portsmouth council doesn't allow dogs in its parks, not the city centre ones anyway.

Our girls are so spoiled , they are so playful and loving. Spot has had 2 surgeries and has survived breast cancer.
They are up there in years for ratty's but still like to play, they just tire easy now and sleep more.
The big bottle Ben is sitting on is huge over a liter , it is really for Ginny pigs. She still sits on it a lot ,it is her alone space.
They both still like to sit on my shoulders and watch T.V. If I am eating popcorn they will lick my cheek and sniff till I give them some.
If we leave the cage door open at night they will get out go across Conners dresser to the window sill jump down to his head board and climb down to his pillow and sleep next to him.
They are really cool little gals.
Rats are clean , they clean them selves but ours still get weekly baths. If the cage is cleaned as it should be there is no oder and ours are litter box trained .
Sad they don't live very long , 1 year for us is 30 years to a rat so 2 to 3 years is a long life for them. Even a rat can show it's love for someone shows it a little love.
I took care of a wounded wild Brown rat for a couple months and before it left would come take food from my hand.
They look very cute and very happy, content little souls. Rats make great pets, very intelligent and bright. I saw an article about how rats enjoy playing with us and actually laugh when you tickle them. It's a shame the perception is of grubby, smelly creatures, as you say they are clean and like to live in a clean environment. I'd love to have some but I think Mia the cat might have other ideas.
Think it's bscause owners weren't picking up all the shoite producing a park that people and kids couldn't use properly.
Coco taking it easy!

My Son's wee Girl, A border Terrier alas has Breast Cancer. Got diagnosed yesterday. She is still fairly lively and well enough for now tho. 11 yrs old plus so unlikely to make 12. wee shame.https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/8...908/0OhCEe.jpg
That's so terribly sad Grant. Our furry companions give us so much, they are part of our families. Thankfully we can end their suffering when the time comes, the last act of love for them.

I thought you lived in the ghetto but that looks quite posh. You've got grass - and those wooden things that stick up and go green in the summer.
A choke chain will soon put a damper on the doggo's antics :D

She's a bit of a pansy so it could have been a leaf blowing around, she is very interested in birds though I doubt she'd ever get near them.
