that arm looks very nice with the spu. made for each other aesthetically. I see why youd like to declutter and piano black the top a!d agree it would look awsome. may make my aos allstars picture album;)

Yup, I think it would look quite cool :cool:

Btw, in the third pic, it shows a Resomat, which I no longer have. I now use an Nagaoka glass mat. Other than that, the pic shows the Mike New ETP platter, and everything else that the T/T currently has fitted to it.

Still got my resomat that I used on the Arezzo . Never tried it on the Thorens. It was very good..using a funk now

ok, if you can't hear a difference that's fair enough. I just think the top plate looks too fussy with all those extra buttons and I don't like the "cool" blue LEDs, I'm afraid I like the old school green and red, that's just my personal taste.

I agree about the top-plate being too 'fussy', but then I feel that way about all SL-1200/1210s, even the MKIIs. I find the finish on the matt black top-plate of those a bit drab (and I think blue lights on black look more striking than green), but hey, like you say, it's a personal taste thing :)

It's about time that we had some new mods to play around with. I think the only thing I'd change on mine now would be the platter mat, I'd like to try something like what you have, otherwise I'm happy with everything else.

Lol - new mods to play with? Nah, I'm quite happy to forget tweaking now and just enjoy the music! My Techy is at the stage of 'job done'. I suspect you're more of a 'tinkerer' than I am :eyebrows:

I thoroughly recommend the Nagaoka glass mat, if you can find one - just ekes out more music and sounds more natural than any other mat I've used.
