Can anyone recommend a good course in marketing techniques for the author of this piece of gibberish. Really.....I mean, how can any company present themselves like this and expect to make a sale as a result?
Astonishing!

I've read he's a bit of a crackpot !! Poor bastard !!!
I wish him no ill will, but he really, really needs to pay someone to represent his interests.

The description reads "Auf funktionalität nicht geprüft" which translates as "Not tested for functionality". Seems a lot of money for an untested sample, especially as there is clearly a plug attached!
Hi guys, how does the Goodmans Minister SL compare to the rest of their range?
It is the worst of the Magnum range Filipe.
Magnum K = Best build quality but cone tweeter is poor off axis [my personal favourite.]
Magnum K2 = Slightly inferior build quality but arguably the best sound with well integrated drive units.
Magnum SL = Poor build quality [compared to the others but average for the age] The Philips tweeter is poor & spoils them somewhat.
All IMO/IME :)
EDIT: I'm sorry, I read that as Magnum not Minister... I have no experience of these but I'm sure someone will be along shortly :D
Felipé,
How'bout these.

Thanks to both of you, I'm kinda ignorant when it comes to Goodman's gear!
The Minister SL was very much a budget speaker. It used a roll surround version of Goodmans cheap 8P PA bass unit and as a midrange it used a cone driver that they actually used as a tweeter in some designs. The tweeter is another cone driver of the same size. I've used the various Ministers and all I can say is that they work, but they aren't wonderful. If you want something British from the same era that sounds good, look for a pair of Celestion County or even better Ditton 15 speakers, KEF Chorales are nice too, but going up in price.
Hey Geoff, thanks! Among others, I currently have 3 pairs of british speakers, namely the DM1's, recapped Ditton 22's and MA Gold's 700, but in the recent past I've lost count of them  Still would like to hear the 15's (can't find anyone to post these abroad at decent prices) and County's, how do they compare to the 22's for instance?
No Hifi but he took my offer up for it, perfect for my 60's pit :eyebrows:
..Just waiting for a quote from the re-upholsters.. To be covered in Orange again of course

I'd love an Eames lounger for my 'listening chair' http://shard1.1stdibs.us.com/archive...23738381_2.jpg
O your talking some money for one of those James..
I was gonna go for this, even though it is 1960's it's more fitting with the 1970's, our sofa is an original 1967 sofa & wouldnt look right with it
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-Re...item3cd6e5c802
I went for the other as it's more fitting in the living room, it's not a listerning chair anyway just a park your arse in the corner chair..
Now that is an advert of utter, utter distinction. Fantastic, thanks for that Andre!
:lolsign:
Odd choice for a subtitle  cant see that helping it sell ! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Leak-Stere...item43c0cadc4e
Could be interesting... Rather optimistic opening price though... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/bang-olufs...item33867a0d31
They're Bang & Olufsen type Ks. Predecessor to the better-known Beolab 5000s from the 1960s and designed to go with B&O's low powered valve amplifiers - they don't like much more than 25 watts up 'em apparently.
I've not heard a pair but my good friend who is guru of all things B&O rates them firmly in the "meh" category, and opines that the decimal point in that starting price needs shifting to the left somewhat!
Tannoy Cheviots. Apparently "These are getting very rare".
Ah well, that must explain why I see so many up for sale! :eyebrows:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tannoy-Che...item2583fd8b17
Is this really a serious listing.
£445 for a pair of old speakers that the seller admits knowing nothing about. I've never heard of them, but they look like budget seventies fare to me judging by the economy tygan grille cloth and the elliptical main driver, which is almost certainly a cheapo EMI unit and they're not even in great condition.
