It is definitely overpriced but fully restored/ dampened thorens 160 maybe even 150 with sme 3009 arm and something like shure cart or denon if you want more detailed sound will easily run against linn. And still you can get one in decent condition for less than linn.Quote:

Not really a HI Fi speaker, the plastic coned tweeters did not go up as high as the much better paper coned one used on the 350. Also the 450 did have a very small magnet. That said, the 450 could make quite a bit of noise from a low powered amplifier, so connecting it to a radio or record player with a poor speaker could result in an improvement.Quote:

I have a 930 which I love, but your are largely restricted to using the (albeit excellent) EMT cartridges. One can, with a bit of manual dexterity, fit other cartridges into an emplty TSD-G headshell, but it's a tight fit.
Only VAT free within the EU if the buyer has a valid VAT number, otherwise it’s plus 21%. Since this listing is priced excluding VAT, I presume that the seller is confident that it will end up somewhere like the Far East.
