The links are held together with screwed pins rather than the friction ones, from past experience they can be a bit of an unknown quantity till you tackle 'em.

Partner I lost in 2011 didn't have a great deal of jewellery, what there was I gave to her boy (although thinking back I bought her most of it), think he sold it to go towards a trip to Thialand where he was going to make his fortune... before coming back a couple of months later literally with his 'tail' between his legs lol
Still got all Mum's stuff though apart from a nice big gate bracelet I gave to one of my cousins.
most of it wont be especially valuable.. but i guess a hundred tenners adds up, plus there is some nice stuff too... think my and my dads wedding rings are probably there. didnt fit so were put away i think in there.
must have a look when im up to it. at least i know where they are now.
I gave a fair amount to my daughter as well
Yes, it's weird how stuff turns up, usually when you're looking for something else. Recently found a few old & precious photographs (my Dad was quite a keen photographer back in the day). I've scanned them and passed them round to various family members (sometimes with a 'who's that at the back?' request).
This one reflects where my interest in cooking probably started :)

Kept this on today. The GMT hand is fully functional, I'm impressed for the price.
