The mids foam looks like it's had its day which is expected from these early speakers and the tweeter is widely available. Not that much work imo.
That's an awful lot of work. The NS-1000 boxes are thick dense ply and heavily braced. Or at least the sectioned boxes I saw Yamaha displaying were. Just getting the rebates right would be pretty demanding.Quote:

If you have a final settling on those speakers, the motivation to replicate and even improve may be worth it although a lot of work. I would perhaps consider if doing it making narrower fronted ones though.
My most recent own boxes have 53 wood braces in each and are 'rock dead.
I doubt a much narrower cabinet can be achieved, taking into acount the significant sidewall thickness.Quote:
