Working my way through a bunch of CDs that have been given to me:
The Strokes - 'Is This It'
https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon....h1k3L._AC_.jpg
The singer's voice reminds me of Lou Reed, but otherwise it is, IMO, utter rubbish.
James - 'The Best Of'

Anodyne 'Brit Pop' - could be worse.
Alice Cooper - 'Greatest Hits'

Only liked 'School's Out' and 'Elected' - the rest were instantly forgettable.
Red Hot Chilli Peppers - Blood Sugar Sex Magic'

No - it's not for me!
Lone Justice - 'Lone Justice'

New to me, and not too bad. Well worth a repeated listen.
James Brown - 'Sex Machine - The Very Best of James Brown'

Now:
Neil Young - 'Harvest'

Indeed. It's one of those weird albums; if you chat to someone who knows the album, one can discuss Jack Atsidakos' car crash and know full well what is meant. If one chats to someone who only knows KLF's big hits (and hits they were of course), then it's a mystery, unheard album.
I personally think it's their best one, the real KLF so to speak.
Bill Drummond was such a weird influence, but his knowledge of the music industry led him to write 'The Manual'. Now I remember 'Bring Me Edelweiss' by 'Edelweiss' hitting the number one spot in the UK. Bill Drummond quite clearly knew what he was talking about.
