The Abis is not made by Jelco but its manufacturer is a closely guarded secret - I couldn't find out when I reviewed it!
I must admit I liked it - its a good arm and works a treat with a DL103.

Oh dear. I hope nobody is daft enough to buy these. They are in 'spares only' condition.

Maybe somebody like Trigger from fools and horses could buy them ? I ll have em Del !
Can't believe there's any refurb done to them, he looks to have polished over the years of stain instead of rubbing them down and the colour difference is surely due to the sunlight not grain difference...
There's another set for £100 on there that are almost as bad

Japanese sale Shane. Tannoys are sought after and at a premium there.
A pair bought from a UK seller with the cost of shipping to Japan would probably work out somewhere similar costwise.
recent sale
yep - they are starting to go for nuts money now, too.
Talking of "nuts money", here's another very nice Decca. But expensive again.

BIG IMF's going at a sensible price (so far). In North Yorkshire.

Whats a reasonable buying price for these, around 6 or 700 ?. Sounds a sensible seller, love to hear em !
Seller says he bought them from Emporium for £750. Emporium always ask top dollar these days so knock off 20% from that and you're about right.
They may be rare and very good but people don't want big, 1970s looking speakers anymore so that affects the value more than anything.

Have you seen these Tannoy Pumas Geoff - Weird they appear to have Cheviot MKII XOvers for some reason  can they work with 15's in these...?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tannoy-Pum...0AAOSwhlZZvoz8
I'd imagine that combination of driver and crossover may work rather well. It's not a question of the crossover "driving". The 1kHz crossover is basically similar for the 15" and 12" units and should give decent enough results, although the sensitivity of the 15" driver is slightly higher.
Well they'll certainly sound like proper Tannoys. The 15" driver is a close relative of the 12" one in my Cheviot II speakers and mine are the best sounding Tannoys I've owned bar none. And, yes, I've had Monitor Golds and HPD's.
The Puma is a compact stage monitor and not designed for deep bass. Those drivers are crying out for some big cabinets.
The SRM 15X is essentially the same driver in a decent sized cabinet. A pair of those will likely set you back a couple of grand.

If you were interested in them, it might be best to establish that they do have the 3128 crossovers and not just the terminal plate. Although the drivers are worth a few quid anyway.
There are NO bargains on E Bay any more ;)
Tannoy Arden Mk.II. Need cone surrounds, but could go cheap. In Tunbridge. Well worth sorting out!

The title is wrong by the way. These are not HPD speakers.

 I was just looking for this thread to post this news but see you beat me to it.
If I was near Edinburgh I would be tempted to take a punt on this having owned Harbeths in the past.
It's interesting that no pics are shown of the rears where the amps apparently were. Must be quite a mess, but I guess fixable.
