I can report a pleasant and straightforward transaction with Paul (Reffc).
The mains regenerator was as advertised, and packed properly. I got a nice cup of tea and, more importantly, a chance to listen to Paul's Tannoys.
These are obviously a labour of love and are as beautiful to look at as they are to listen to. Paul has designed the cabinets himself and the cabinet work is exquisite. But the sound is to die for! He has spent hundred of hours voicing the speakers and I was treated to both LP and CD. I know "The Wall" by Pink Floyd well but there was stuff I was hearing for the first time. We also listened to some organ music and I have never heard a set of speakers which could handle the swells and resonances as well as this pair. So my top tip to anyone buying from Paul in future is to make the journey to pick up in person. Persuade him to make you a cuppa and put some music on. Just sit back and listen for yourselves.
I really am glad I decided to go and pick the regenerator up, rather than get a mate who has family locally swing by.
Peter

Many thanks Peter, much appreciated, beautifully wrapped also.
We'll report back when we've got them set up (Robbie wasn't too keen when I said that we should test them on my system), but now seen the aesthetics of B&O kit he's all of a sudden interested in resurrecting my Beomaster turntable!
Hope the move goes smoothly.
Best Regards

A long, long time ago on a planet far, far away somebody promised to send me a copy of the movie Paul. The PM from said person has now been lost in the mists of time and I've slept since then so the loss of neural connections in the interim is not insignificant. Anyway, thank you, whomever you may be, for leaving it with dear old Uncle Alfred, he left it to me in his will... ;)
Many thanks to Geoff (walpurgis) for the quick delivery of the Yaquin Buffer. It was double boxed, arrived perfect!

No worries mate glad they got to you ok!
Every time I visit this thread I expect to be assaulted by an ear-splitting electronic screech... :D
Bought my bushmaster from icehockey boy at a great price, it was delivered straightaway, pleasure to deal with...big thumbs up..
I had a very pleasant morning with Shane yesterday (Southall-1998) when I went to collect the Klipsch speakers he was selling. Had a good chin-wag about hifi and got to hear his fabulous system.
I had some time to play with them this afternoon. It is a great pity that one of the bass drivers has a problem as I think they are a great sounding pair of speakers. Mind you they need quite a lot of volume to make them sing, so again (in the same way as the KG3's) may be a difficult load despite being fairly sensitive. I have turned the problem bass unit to see if gravity will help align the voice coil. You can stop the distortion by applying pressure to the other side of the cone whilst music is playing.
I will do some googling, but I think that to re-align the voice coil you would have to remove the cone and pole piece dust cover. Quite a lot of work which would mean prising the rubber surround from the speaker casting so that the cone is floating. I will have to see if I think I am brave enough!
Thanks for a painless and pleasant transaction.
I spent an enjoyable few hours this morning with Busybee330 (Bernard) who visited to audition (and buy!) my EAR amplifier. Bernard is a complete gent with good musical taste! It was a pleasure meeting and doing business with you Bernard.
You shouldn't have to remove the centre dust cover Rob.
If you can separate the cone surround from the frame, then you can apply some glue & then before it sets, send a small current via an AAA battery to the terminals for very short periods. This will cause the driver to pulse & if you repeat this a few times, the coil should centre itself within the magnetic field.
