Grant has the right idea about scones. Just don't get mixed up with drop scones, which are more like small pancakes. They are also quite easy to make, and seem also to be associated with Scotland.

My mum made great drop scones on her old griddle. Yeah a scott ish pancake.

Yes, we have all heard of the dangers of getting mixed up with drop scones, so many young lives destroyed...
A gateway drug for sure.

Brush with milk and bake for 12-15 minutes until well risen and starting to turn golden.
Remove from the oven and cool on a rack.
Serve with butter and jam while still warm.

That's for Scottish scones.
Drop scones are a little different. More a pancake
