Coffee came. Not impressed with roast date. Doubt I will use again just for that reason alone.. 2 months old already.

Interesting... I don't know anything about roast dates, mate. What sort of date would you expect?:)
I'd be interested though, on your thoughts about the flavour.

my rave stuff is roasted to order. give or take a few days. 2 months is a long time for beans; i prefer say 2 weeks to gas offQuote:

As long as the beans are fresh when I get them (as in not off/past their sell-by date), that's what mainly matters for me.
Like Justers though, it'll be interesting to see what you think of the taste. Those are different from the beans I'm using, but from the same supplier, and if they taste anywhere near as good, you'll not be disappointed.

not bad, but a bit dark. ive mixed it 50/50 with my italian blend and see how that comes out.
Looks nice and rich... What's the blend? Being so dark, I doubt it's pure Arabica. Did you remember to adjust the grind a little and reduce the quantity of coffee that you'd normally use? I find that the flavour/colour you get from Coffee Masters beans is more intense than normal, so you need to use a little less ground coffee per cup.
Returning to this:
I've just checked the roasting date on my bag of Coffee Masters Exclusive Master Blend beans, which are pure Arabica... It was 15th December, which I received on 3rd January. So I suspect that you got a rogue batch - maybe getting rid of old stock?Quote:
