"The World's Most Useless Dog" has had umpteen treats off me today, so she's not doing too badly. Not that it's appreciated!

Lol, can you ever with female logic?:eyebrows:
Marco.
Honestly; no chance - mind you I am quite happy that way :)
Hot Cross Buns are being advertised now. Does anybody actually like them?
It's a bit like Christmas Cake, Christmas Pudding and mince pies, only for the occasion. I wonder why, surely if they were properly nice folk would eat them all year round?
Well if I was looking through bakery products, I'd somehow find myself drawn more towards the custard slices than Hot Cross Buns.
Same with Christmas pud, it's never really appealed, I'd opt for apple crumble & custard any day! :)
used to be banned, bar end of lent, xmas and burials etc.. they are ok. as rob says, warmed and lashings of butter
Well if it was a toss-up between a slice of Christmas Cake or chocolate gateau, I reckon most would opt for the latter.
Never been that into Xmas cake either. In fact I'm not that fond I'd choc gateaux either.. Strawberry ones are better. But cream and me don't get along so well now.
During visits to France, I couldn't pass a patisserie without buying one of their "custard slices", which were sort of a flan but super-thick, and the custard really stiff and sort of caramelised. Never found out their name but may have been called flan patissiere. They were responsible for me always returning from France a right fat bugger.
Shame they've become a thing of the past, but till France gets its shit together I won't be partaking of any Covid-custards :(
not keen on custard; dont mind nice smooth hot custard on an apple pie but cold thick stuff.. yuk:D
After about 5 years of the same blood pressure medication (Amlodipine), it looks like a change may be required. I've been asked to provide a week's worth of readings, and the average is looking to be about 165/85. Which I guess is a bit high.
My mum had a major stroke when she was four years younger than I am now. So if my posts stop making sense that'll be the reason :(
Heartening to know it's close to your average Grant, maybe ok after all.
Well done to Scotland, beating France 23-27 in the Stade de France, which was a tremendous (and historic) result in itself [and also for pumping England at Twickenham earlier in the tournament:eyebrows:], and most importantly in doing so handing the Six Nations championship to Wales, who are very worthy winners!!:carrot:

Well done to the taffy boys!!
:clapclapclap:
Marco.
^^^^^
Yes cracking result, I imagine you are like a pig in s___, well.. you know.
:mex:
Good game considering the conditions - I felt for the French though. I do like their open, running game.
Before I get slated for being anti Scotland - I really admired their determination in the last five minutes :)
:lolsign: I couldn't fault him!
It's not a case of being anti-Scotland, just simply supporting England, and if you're English you don't want Scotland winning anything, ditto me with England, and I'm not anti-English either. Just how it is:)
It'll be fun and games in the forthcoming footy Euros, so looking forward to that!:D
Marco.
Your DNA can be detected anywhere you go!

I've been expecting this kind of thing. Soon they'll know what rooms or vehicles you've been in, maybe they can tell already. Unfortunately, as results become more discriminating, the more false positives will occur. Somebody passing you will carry a trace of you away with them!
It looks like we'll all be sent down for crimes we didn't commit now then. Sheesh.
Sounds more like an April first
Just got these for two new landline handsets: https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/phones...pid=display~RR
Nice and compact, lightweight, easy to use, excellent range, and with a great set of features, including an effective and easy to use nuisance call blocking, plus talking caller ID, which to my easily amused mind is huge fun storing folk as 'Dickhead', 'Wanker', or whatever, and which is rather funny when being read out as 'Dickhead Calling', etc!:D
Anyway, a highly recommended pair of handsets for anyone like me who insists on having a working landline, not just a mobile phone!
Marco.
got my son these recently. they block well.... https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Yeah, mate, similar thing:)
I like the talking caller ID function on the Panys though, as you can hear who's calling from another room and therefore decide if you want to speak to them or not, without having to go to the phone!:D
Marco.
Does anyone call you on it?!
We’ve recently upgraded to fibre broadband and so lost our landline as we’d have had to pay extra to keep it. I wasn’t sure about this but then I realised the only people who ever call us on it are my friend Tim and an older chap I sell hi-fi for (both of whom also have my mobile number) plus hundreds of bloody scammers!
Given that the scammers are all recorded messages now, so you can’t even have a bit of fun with them, we decided the landline was no great loss.
No fibre service here.
it will probably come eventually. odd as you'd think london was full of it.. we had fibre to the box for a few years but this year we not have it to the premises too.. they put boxes on the telegraph poles, so a fibre line from that to a box out side and we are boogying at nearly 500mbs. lost the phone but its not much dearer
Quicker than usual today.
