Got a reply now (eventually). I think the guy operates in a state of confusion, could be rather elderly. Picking the stands up Friday hopefully.

Gradually creeping up £300 - Nuts!

If ever a speaker was overrated. That's the one. You see them with asking prices of £500 to £600 now. Why?
They worked, but used cheap drive units and sounded nothing amazing. Those again were common at boot sales and went for peanuts. I preferred the Videoton Minimax 2, which was better made, but they were not marvellous either.
£280 for a pair of 'bastardised' KEF Reference 104 speakers. I'd not give more than forty quid for them as parts!

plus £ 49 post hmmm
I'm not sure there is a great deal of love for cashconverters on the forum but this Marantz 1050 amp looks nice at £50 if you are local- of course doesn't mean it will sound nice. The fact that the photo doesn't show the full face might mean there are hidden issues.
Cashconverters sell gear that is not tested properly. I know, as I've had to return Hi-Fi that was not working correctly. I've also repaired an old TT as best could for somebody, only to see it in that shop shortly after at a loony price, despite it being incomplete and barely functional.

hmm yeah i never thought of that, certainly an amp to give you a stiffy thats for sure!
There seem to be a number of similar ebay members from Bristol with same wording which I've noticed for a while now e.g.

I have been tempted by items in the past but begrudge paying an extra £25 or £22 for delivery for an item in my home town.
here's another one - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SONY-TA-F6...YAAOSw2gxYxSHZ
not sure why they need different member id's maybe to avoid the taxman?
LAD Turntable ...... Of interest ?

A rather handsome piece of kit. Seems fair for the asking price.

These wire clips look rather handy for temporary component/circuit hook ups.

Been wanting to try an older amp to go with a Thorens TD150/V15typeii for awhile now, clicked buy now on this for £170 including postage.Don't think it's the bargain of the century by any means but they usually seem to go for a bit more. Only 20 watts into 8ohms but I'm listening in a fairly small space. Any thoughts?

It looks like in pristine condition Patrick. I came across some good reviews of this little amp a few times. Please share your thoughts once you get to listen to it ;)
Really looking forward to giving it a try, it certainly looks in decent condition and it won't make me bankrupt if turns out not to be so good sounding.
The Luxman 700 is a steal! Those things were very expensive when new. I don't see how you could go wrong! If you don't like it you could sell it for a profit. Sharp looking amp, I'm guessing it sounds good!

JBL L40 speakers. Can you spot the problem here?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pair-of-70...IAAOSwopRYd-2k
They are basically scrap!
The L40's on ebay:

How they should look:

The pushed in tweeter dome is not good, but the bass drivers are totally wrong. They could be Richard Allen units (maybe).
These speakers are not worth bothering with and are scrap as far as I'm concerned.
